The average winter day in Houston means it's 60-65 and cloudy. That's hardly cold weather.

I have a nice selection of shovels to lend you.:D
However, when I was very young, we did have some impressive (by Houston standards) winters. An inch or two of snow on the ground for 3 days or so, with single-digit (9 degrees in Spring, TX, but still single digits) lows and daytime highs in the upper 20s. |

When it's 98 and full-bore humidity in August, and the city feels like the inside of a grimy jock-strap, I'd kill for some snow. This is just a wish fulfilled, IMO.

98 and humid sounds nice to me! The grimy jock-strap on the other hand...
I don't mind it being cold, and certainly would rather it be cold than hot and humid and sticky. I can always add more layers of cold to keep warm. Yet on the typical August day in Houston you could sit outside naked and still be miserable. |

Houston has beautiful summer weather.

Wow, I'm watching Carrie Fisher talk about her new book "Wishful Drinking". Love the title but I can't believe SHE was Princess Leia.

I finally got my Flight Memory started, with full details of the past couple years since I kept a physical log and the rest pulled from my hazy memory. I have a couple hundred thousand miles to remember, with most of them being repetitive business trips to NYC, LAX, SFO and SEA. Plus some Europe trips and the early childhood days.
Anyhow, here is the start: http://my.flightmemory.com/mbm3 |

Good point ssulivan... On the other hand, on a typical January day in Cleveland you could sit outside naked and be even more miserable.:D |
It's actually coming down pretty hard...

Anyhow, here is the start: http://my.flightmemory.com/mbm3 I still want someone to explain to me how that UI is better than the OF one. I can't see anything other than BOD (and I had to know that one because it is obscured), CDG, VCE and BER in Europe, and there are 20-something in there. Ditto for the islands off India and the NE USA on the international map. |
