Morning. No worries. It's only 7:30. Some of us are still waiting for coffee to kick in as we ponder how best to bleed National dry.

Another long day of driving for me. From Dublin, VA to Houston. Will I make it in one fell swoop? According to maps.google.com, it should take me a little more than 17 hours. I'll try to make into Houston in the middle of the night. I'll write when I make it into Houston. Hopefully, I don't hit any gas shortages.

I didn't read the terms of the National Deal , It doesn't work for 1 day rentals :mad::mad:

Did you try to price it anyway? The SMF rental that was pricing out to 95 cents was a 1 day rental. The terms are out the window on this deal...

Usually I only ever have 1-2/day rentals. Oddly, as this deal came out, I had two separate rentals on the calendar of 3+ days.

For the first time in more than two years... I have no flights scheduled.

Not sure I like this feeling.

You must feed the beast, or it will become angry. Next thing you know, you'll wake up on a CR2 to LRD, wondering what happened.

Morning, Box! I almost said it was the wrong day again. I had "Friday" typed out and then it hit me that it wasn't. But I'm working today and going into 2 days off, so technically it's a Friday for me. Meh, whatever.

Does this National deal work if you don't have the super-duper status that you all have? We have Thrifty booked for FLL in December, and free tis always more gooder. :D

It's a better morning than yesterday, when I was greeted with two inches of water on the floor of the bathroom. Turns out it soaked two apartments below us and actually started a nice puddle in the parking garage on the ground floor. Had to rip up the carpet, remove the pad, and put a giant drum fan on it for 12 hours until it dried out. It's one of those times I'm thankful for living in SAN where mildew is not as huge of a problem as it is in, oh say, Houston. ;)

That stinks! How did the water get there?

I have no National status and it booked OK for me, though I only booked 1-day rentals. Sure, they aren't valid according to the T&C, but I have a print-out that says $0 and would just be sleeping in the airport anyways, so I'll scream and yell a bit and see what I can make happen. :p

The key seems to be paying with a Visa, FWIW.

I just got an upgrade notification for my flight to MC:rolleyes: next week. At least something is going right today.

I just logged on to co.com to see what the seat map looked like and F is almost near full now. I'm surprised by this because the exit rows were wide open when I booked this the other day. Do that many Plats not book exit rows?

It looks like there's easily a dozen or so Plats on this flight. Either that or a really rich family with a bunch of kids just bought a boat load of first class seats... :o
