Oh my God, I'm getting pulled over. Everyone, just... pretend to be normal.

I kind of got pulled over last night for sort of running a red light in the crappy area of Paterson, NJ on the way home from work last night. It all worked out.

This aviation geek is actually excited to get up at 04:00 on Saturday. No, its not just for the thrill of taking a Malev 73G to AMS - which is not too bad actually - but rather to FINALLY get my Upper Desk experience on a 747. After many years of trying I finally snagged an exit row seat on the upper deck on the NW flight to DTW and, as luck would have it, 1A on the 744 on the way back to the office the following weekend. Not many times that you can say you arrived ahead of the pilots!

Congrats! I too have the same desire to ride in the bubble or even just upfront on a 744. Enjoy your trip!

Arrived into Houston
 

I stopped for dinner last night in Hammond, LA. I thought I could do the 5 hour drive. Nope, I pulled over around 1230am at the Texas welcome center on I-10 (exit 880). Slept till 430ish and arrived to my place at 630ish. The traffic at 6-630am is atrocious. Even PHL doesn't have that much volume that early in the morning.

So.. here I am. Now, time to go to bed and take a nap. Then, the real work begins - unloading and unpacking.:(

Ditto. I couldn't get the upper deck in either direction on my AKL fare mistake run on UA, so I'm still an upstairs virgin. :(

I decided that working sitting on my couch was not much fun anymore so I've taken to finding random places with free WiFi in my neighborhood and camping out for a couple hours at a time. I can't decide if I like it or not. On the plus side, it forces me to get up and interact with other people, even if that is mostly just watching them walk back and forth in front of me. On the down side, I have to interact with other people. :p

The traffic the last couple of weeks has been worse than normal due to people taking the freeways rather than the side streets to avoid the powerless traffic lights.

Thursday Afternoon Glare
 

Another Thursday and another Frosh football game. I now enjoy going to these games since my son has become a starter (wide receiver) and hopefully he was actually be thrown a pass in today's game. He also might have become their new field goal kicker. He was clowning around at yesterday's practice, kicked a 40 yrd field goal and was given a tryout. Before you think that this is hot stuff, it isn't, since no one is cut from joining the team and they have only won one game out of three. This isn't Texas football or Friday Night Lights. :D
