You are eligible (family members can be nominated) - I am assuming this is the Group Exchange program, correct? What a fantastic experience. I know a few people who have gone and it's been an amazing time for them. I've always enjoyed hosting GSE people when they've come. I hope you get it!!!

If they don't keep devaluing! I have only found a few places that don't take AMEX and I always have a back up for that.

I'm curious what you find the value to be. You have a PC membership, so the only lounge value can be the AA clubs which is a very new feature. Other than that, the big ticket feature is FHR. That can be worth a lot if you use it, but I have only done so twice (Bellagio and the Oriental; crappy at the former and phenomenal at the latter). Otherwise there are no benefits of real value that I see.

Thanks, I'll have to pass that on to The Mom. I've seen that GSE acronym tossed around, so I'm guessing we're talking about the same thing. Funny you should bring this up - I was just looking at KQ's website and Great Circle Mapper...the smart way to go is to connect once in Europe (CDG/AMS/LHR)...US-NBO-NSI also an option, but NBO is out of the way.

ConciergeMike Oct 28, 2008 9:50 pm

NBO doesn't work...found the AF flight that would get me there. EWR-CDG on CO, then CDG-DLA-NSI on AF on an A343. Two new aircraft, four new airports, six new routes, all kind of new FM porn. Now to see if I can actually go.

For the first time yesterday I did use the Amex 2-4-1 and a $441 RT from FLL to the Panhandle on DL turned up at $570 for two due to all of the supplemental taxes and fees, including some for phone booking.

I was also told by Amex that the second ticket would not get miles credit. However, the website had a place for the second SkyMiles # and the receipt that I got from DL showed both. Not only that, they were U class and the $441 regular price was what was showing on both tickets. Seeing that, I now will be surprised if the miles do not credit on both accounts.

Now, if they could find something other than a CRJ or ATR to fly into PFN, they could truly make me happy.

For me, it's probably the service - which is far superior than what I had as a gold. It's always been when traveling int'l and they've been able to help me when I couldn't get help elsewhere. It's probably NOT worth the extra money paid, but somehow I feel it has a value. I agree with the FHR being a benefit (most of the time).

MR BL has been going around China and taking pictures of signs that he finds hilarious. He has quite a collection going.

baglady Oct 29, 2008 4:56 am

Nothing worthwhile to post, but this IS the box ;)

Bought another (real) 12 DVDs, 4 VCDs and a few CDs today in addition to what we bought yesterday (about 12 total). MR BL was especially excited about the new Cure CD; and almost bought Lost 4 but it's out in Dec in the US and will be about $15 cheaper. I looked for the Amazing Race Asia but no luck.

In the electronic dept. - my computer no longer has takes a charge; I brought the wrong adapter for my DVD player (which means my EVA flight home will be VERY long) and that means BL JR has mine so I will have to rely on EVA IFE which I've already seen and my ipod.

MR BL got me an amazing ring for our anniversary so all is forgiven for not taking previous broken necklace back.

I have my normal pollution bronchitis but c'est la vie.

I'm ready to go home and get some real sleep.

I've made PLT for both SPG and MR - what next (I do, after all have 2 months)????

End of nothing . . .

Morning, Box! :D

Hopefully the regulars got thru last night with power. Heard it was much rougher up north than what we got on the shore.

You will get miles on the second ticket. I have on CO and DL tickets credited to CO. Yes, the taxes & booking fees are a little ridiculous, but you basically saved $310 on that ticket anyways, so there is real value to the program. My guess is that is too many people were using it, costing AmEx too much money, and they had to pull the plug.

Also, for the bmi harlots out there, the end is nigh. We've known it was coming, but the day has finally come that BD has sold out to LH. We can toast the demise of perhaps the greatest FF program ever in BRU in January as the deal will be closing the prior week.

Sounds like you need some serious relaxation time.

As far as status to pursue, what about HHonors? :)

My time has been spent working on a client's implementation and for some reason, whoever booked my time only booked it through this week, rather than the entire month of November. This has led to a bunch of requests for me to do training next week, which is extremely short notice. Ack!

We are finally moved out of the old place and do the final walkthrough with the landlord this afternoon. It's a bit of a stress reliever. Through the entire process we've realized that we have way too much "stuff". :p

We kept power in the building but apparently not on our boiler or hot water heater. The missus was none to happy to not be able to shower this morning. Oh, and my crazy upstairs neighbor decided to flood my apartment overnight. Again. That's twice this month, plus once that his feces was found in the hallway. Gotta love living in NYC.

ah yes and the report for ALCO :

Um, - just  ... there's a punchline in there somewhere, but I'm afraid to go looking for it.
