So I got the Merrill Lynch Credit Card because you either get a free Crown Room pass or an AAdmirals Club pass after you spend 50k. I managed to do it in the past few months and now dont know which lounge to pick since CO is going away from Skyteam. I still have my P-Club pass until April 2009 so it really doesnt matter at this point but Id like to go ahead and choose one since I earned it. Which one would you choose?

All future flights will probably be on CO.
I primarily fly NYC-IAH as destination or layover to maximize miles.
I can change my membership next year at this time if I dont like my choice and I still have P-Club until April 2009.

You're AA Plat, so AAdmirals Club probably doesn't mAAke a lot of sense. Are the NYC-area CRC's any better than the PC's? (I've only hung out in EWR PC's.)

If CRC or AA aren't options, the question then becomes why you didn't go Chase PPlus or a more CO-focused card.

Vote None of the Above.

Take the AA because you have overlapping coverage with CO until April; you'll figure something else out next year to cover the missing two month.

And find a card that better aligns with your redemption/reward needs.

Ibid. Was there something else (other than hatred of Chase, as that's a given) that made you go to the Merrill card?

No annual fee and other small benefits that may or may not be used. I can also use 25k points earned through Merrill for a r/t ticket valued at up to $500 on CO, I still earn the miles and am eligible for the upgrades unlike the Chase CO cards where you just earn miles and then have to book reward tickets. Albeit the CO reward miles are great for intl travel but I do mainly domestic and the Merrill seemed like a better option.

Edit: I also had to have a VISA for the merchant I used to spend so much. AMEX and MCard are not accepted by them.

I also already have the P-Plus card which I am going to get cancel after my discounted annual membership is over in November (which is why I have P-Club until April 2009). They totally screwed me when I booked a $6k CO.com vacation because the charge comes up as a travel agent and not co.com charge so I didnt get double miles.:td: I have called multiple times and have just given up on it.

I am AA Plat via the Merrill Lynch status match after you spend $20k. I have flown a total of 15k miles AA over my life time and most of them were a IAH-MIA-EZE trip.

I really need to remember to stock up on those, i always forget about them. still a silly concept, pay for drinks.

I will say though, the membership is worth every penny when I need to be rebooked, the agents are generally far more helpful and the line doesn't stretch across a terminal. :)

I think I just broke the termalink.

Absolutely true. My one rebooking experience with UA was made incredibly easy and efficient by the RCC matron, but there is not much else to recommend the clubs.

Unless one likes to spend time with mice, of course.
