Probably due to the amazing thunderstorms passing through the NE. There was a period of about 30 minutes here in BOS that there was just a drenching downpour. I missed it by literally 5 minutes getting into my office. Fortunately the system was moving eastward at about 20mph so it passed quickly.

EWR is an absolute mess tonight. Our taxi should be about an hour and a half by the time we get in the air!

The WX has been nasty in the NE this afternoon. I was in Ocean City, NJ during a bad thunderstorm. Had heavy rain on the drive back on the ACE.:(

Sitting in the SEA Pclub eatting breadsticks and champers. Just got off my TPE flight. I couldn't sleep. I watched 10 hours of the Tudors. I'd watched all the movies that had so nothing in my movie case that looked better than a Tudor marathon. They haven't figured out where the plane is leaving out of yet. I'm officially tired and cranky.

Any idea why the premium drinks are $3 more in non hub cities?

Scott6067 Jun 27, 2008 9:56 pm

Sorry to hear that you are delayed. Delays are never fun when flying a long day or week. Interesting note about the wine being more in non-hub cities. perhaps this is an affect of different contractor in non-hub vs hub or is it the fact they arent giving the PC CHase card discount?

Hope your delay lessens and your on your way soon.

baglady Jun 27, 2008 10:19 pm

There is still the discount - but it is $3 more.

Uh oh - I didn't know interesting was a requirement for posting in The Box. I don't think a (large!) majority of what I post in here is interesting! :D

I thought it was... I guess it's because I think most of the stuff posted is interesting.

Over the past few weeks I think I've watched every episode thanks to Surf The Channel.

All I can think about when I read the Sundae thread is the First Class Seinfeld episode (IMHO one of the top 10) and it just makes me laugh.

I heart the SEA P club. They have power strips. And like the DFW Pclub, they bring you drinks to your seat. Which reminds me of the RCC, while you pay for your drinks, I do recall, they did actually give you true bar service and bring the drinks to you. Or at least they did - I haven't been there for a few months.

My driver in SGN told me the Vietnamese PM was in IAH and they thought they would have direct service from IAH-SGN soon. I didn't want to laugh too hard but I had written to Scott telling him I'd really appreciate that ;) - lol a couple of days earlier when I had my baggage fairy incident.

A very interesting group of people in the pclub tonight.

I sit here in CHA getting ready to board 2928 to IAH. CHA is a nice little airport, it reminds me of POS except well, nice.

Yep, several of our members got pictures! Weather was lousy though.

IAH Gets its Own TV Station...

... not really, but:

The Tribune Co.-owned station now known as KHCW (Channel 39) will don its fourth set of call letters in the last decade next month, switching to KIAH as part of a new branding campaign to reflect the station's local orientation, said station general manager Roger Bare.

I'm hoping I can get a reasonable CHA-LBB or CHA-BTR fare sometime in July or August so I can add that dot to my map before the service shuts down in a few months. How was the drive up there from Atlanta?

you can do it in 90 min with no traffic and a lead foot. It's not bad, I took the early morning flight so I stayed at a holiday inn one exit past the airport.
