That's because there isn't any!:p

I'll try and think of a couple of places that might come close nearby though.

I got the ALCO special -

Bacon Cheese Whataburger
Onion Rings
Strawberry Malt

I'm still in heaven.

Yes, but some may want to argue -

Makes perfect sense to me. This thread wouldn't exist if it weren't for beer. ;)

That's because they don't have any. I lived there for two years and didn't find any.

There is a Whataburger in Kingman, AZ. It was one of the things I was missing when I moved to LAS. In-N-Out is no substitute for a Whataburger with cheese.

Thanks! Yeah I assumed there wasn't any. Of course some of our friends who are natives of the area swear by several places, but they just aren't that great. One of them that's rather popular is more "Latin fusion" than Mexican — but the locals don't really know enough to know the difference. It's a mix of Mexican/Cuban/Caribbean/Spanish/South American cuisines, and they don't really do any of them very well. Ropa vieja served with black beans, rice, and plantains is not Tex Mex; it's not even Mexican! But one of the "Mexican" places some of our friends rave about has it as a featured item on the menu…

Apparently anything in Atlanta that has a Spanish name is "Mexican."

LOL - yeah, that sounds about right. Have you been to any places in Buckhead? There was one place near Buckhead that was decent - I need to remember at least where it was if not the name and that can at least be a start. There's actually a good one in Lawrenceville, but I don't think you want to go that far :)

ssullivan Jul 9, 2008 8:30 pm

Well there is one place that we've been that's decent. Not anywhere close to what you get in Texas, despite it being part of a Dallas-based chain. But it's better than many of the other local places.

I shouldn't complain too much. I got my fix while in Houston a couple of weeks ago. And later this month I'm headed down to Alpine for work. It's hard not to eat Mexican food every day you're there, simply because just about every place in town that's any good serves it.

Do you have Chipotle in Atlanta? That ought to take care of your craving, LOL! :-)

Yes we do. But they can't help when you're craving really good enchiladas!

But I do like Chipotle.

I have enjoyed the Kingman, AZ Whataburger on several occasions where I was forced to schlep across the desert via automobile instead of a 737. And while I believe that In-n-Out is good with a nice product and price point, I whole heartedly agree that it is no replacement for the glory with a bun that is Whataburger.

You did a salad? Shame on you. We're not hungry anymore.

Franny's meeting lasted until after 9 so we never could have met at Dino and after checking the Chinese and Thai menus, we called out for Malaysian. It was the first time for that place and was pretty good ^. I got enough for all of the board and we downed it accompanied by a Puligny-Montrachet and a second growth Margaux. ^^

I am trying to decide what is a better plan for after work tomorrow, planespotting and In N' Out or dinner at L'Opera.

Tex-Mex in ATL

While it may not be in ATl it is closer than a CO flight to Terminal E.

Pappasito's has one location in Marietta, GA.

http://www.pappasitos.com/locations.htm

Hope this helps and hope it is close.

And to fly there you have to go WN or US. You are in a said state my friend.

Ticks Free on New CO Partner

According to this article in the Houston Chronicle, there were three ticks found on a UA flight. Guess we will get what we pay for in the new alliance.
