Mesa's branded operations out of ABQ to small New Mexico towns was really fun in the pre-9/11 days. You didn't have to clear security to board, there was no such thing as an eTicket, and boarding passes consisted of a Mesa employee writing a seat assignment on your paper ticket with a black Sharpie.

Is that how you got FMN on your map? There's a shooting school there that I would consider going to, hence my asking about flying with guns a few months ago.

Curve 8330 looks like the way to go - it's still a QWERTY, it's got a nice camera, and it would also meet that criteria of being $100 as an upgraded phone.

She worked for Mesa. Are you sure she wasn't homeless? :o

CO 1E Good on ya mate for the 7100 posts. If I was a true player of the sport I'd break this into a separate post. But, I seem to view my post count as a mark of shame... :o:o

CM, I just put in my internal order for the Curve yesterday. Got a note back asking if I wanted "Titanium or Red". I wrote back "Titanium as red might clash with my lipstick."

Oh, wait. Now I know why HR wants to meet with me tomorrow. :o:o:o

Yep. I had to make several trips out to FMN for work back in summer 2001. That was the year I got many of my more obscure FlightMemory dots, doing HR/employee relations consulting for one of the large oilfield service companies.

Nice. Obscure dots are always fun.

I like the 8330 over 8830 because of the camera. Even though I'm tall and heavier with larger hands, I don't wanna give up a built-in camera. My Razr's camera has made for some really awkward funny stuff in the last few years.

Yep. That's why I was told several months ago in this very forum that my FlightMemory map looks like a travel guide to Redneckistan.

I find the keys to be nicer on the 8830. YMMV.

I thought "Redneckistan" was your word, but now knowing that it isn't, my money is on ALCO or belynch.

No camera. Selling point for me. I'll fondle them both in-store at least once more...I can't upgrade til 8/18.

My RAZR's camera is a piece of garbage.

Mine is too, but it got the job done...at the last job, a woman dropped a large bottle of olive oil on the marble floor right by my desk. Said shot was forwarded to a few people with a "guess the liquid" challenge. :D

Also, some AFLAC reps were at a convention in the old place (where I could get away with this type of thing) and they didn't feel comfortable leaving their way-oversized AFLAC duck with the bellman. I happily took it, propped him on my desk, and offered to take other guests' pictures with it. One of the front desk clerks took my pic with it, and that went out to about 20 people. You could certainly tell that the shot was of a guy in a tuxedo with a grossly oversized plush duck at his side.
