And to fly there you have to go WN or US. You are in a said state my friend.

That's assuming he decides to take a nonstop flight. :)

The brewpub that I have in mind for after the golf has some pretty good burgers, including a 16oz. Black Angus bacon cheeseburger. I call it "coronary on a plate".

According to this article in the Houston Chronicle, there were three ticks found on a UA flight. Guess we will get what we pay for in the new alliance.

They were probably 'Lone Star Ticks'. VERY nasty creatures! :p

Yeah - I've found that too with my experience(s) in ATL. If you miss a grease injection from Whataburger, there's always the Varsity.

In other news, what happens when you put two Penalty Boxers in the same room together? They tell stories that hit the following key words: beer, condoms, paper towels, ketchup, and 6th grade teachers. ;)

I'm quite sure I haven't had enough coffee to hear the detail behind this... ;)

Switch your bev to something with a higher alcohol content and you'll be fine. ;)

Well there is one place that we've been that's decent. Not anywhere close to what you get in Texas, despite it being part of a Dallas-based chain. But it's better than many of the other local places.

I shouldn't complain too much. I got my fix while in Houston a couple of weeks ago. And later this month I'm headed down to Alpine for work. It's hard not to eat Mexican food every day you're there, simply because just about every place in town that's any good serves it.

There is Zocalo on boulevard, which is Mexico City mexican food. There is a Papasitos in north Atlanta if you want to drive. The best Cuban food is at Papis across from Mary-Macs Tea Room on Ponce. As far as Tex-mex goes there a ton of El XXXX restaurants (one big chain but they all have different names). Mexico City on the corner of N. Decatur and Claremont Rd. is acceptable and they have one of the El restaurants caddy corner to it. Taquria De Sol in Downtown Decatur is good, though more fusion.

While it may not be in ATl it is closer than a CO flight to Terminal E.

Pappasito's has one location in Marietta, GA.

Hope this helps and hope it is close.

Thanks, although Marietta is to Atlanta as Conroe is to Houston… both in distance and demographics. But if I get in a real bind, I'll remember it's up there. Thankfully work has me back in Texas at least once a month for the rest of the year.

I've heard Zocalo is good. I'll have to check out some of the others. I saw Taqueria del Sol in Decatur when we were over there a couple of weeks ago. Downtown Decatur is only about five minutes away from us by car, and just two stops away on the MARTA, so we've started going over there more often.

Not sure what's worse — ticks on a plane or rats in the Red Carpet Club.

If UA ever liquidates, the airlines picking up planes and other assets at the fire sale are going to need to spend some money on good exterminators.

The same applies to US, although they're probably removing the insects to save on weight at this point.

Have you been to Brick Store in Decatur? It is amazing.

It's marginally useful for a few trips, like to the airport and downtown. We took it several times this weekend to the fireworks at Lenox Mall and to several events Downtown. I used to take MARTA a lot before I moved to Atlanta, when I wanted to avoid having my partner drive all the way down to ATL to pick me up or drop me off. Generally it's not bad on the weekdays. But weekend service is extremely slow.

And I've been on far worse transit systems in this country. Don't even get me started on SEPTA. At least MARTA trains and stations don't smell like they've been hosed down in human waste.
