Oh but I thought the CO folks here are so much more generous. That's why I came over here from UA ;) :D

Never hurts to ask, right? And who knows, I might have some SPG and UA goodies too ;)

I've missed the Box.

I'm back from my trip to TYS, driving to Bristol, TN (It was a new destination for my flightmemory). TYS was an experience. I spent last night at the airport Hilton (it is about 100 yards from the check-in counters). This morning I overslept, and in 31 minutes I showered, packed, checked out, walked to the airport, checked in, and cleared security. Wow... if only CLE and ORD were that easy. TYS has rocking chairs at some of the gates... I'm quite sure I've never seen that before!

There is a COEX hanger at TYS, and I noticed three EMB sitting there with green tails and an orange circle on the side. I couldn't make out the airline name - anyone have an idea? I assume these are planes that will become COEX planes.

Overall, TN was pretty nice - I'd go back. The people there are incredibly nice and helpful. But that sweet tea they serve... I dunno about that.

Anyway, glad to be back home. I'll have to see what I missed.

John

CLT has rocking chairs as well. I find it a nice Southern touch. Don't care for the sweet tea either nor did I like their pulled pork sandwiches.

Did you drive by the VA Hospital or the NASCAR track?

SAN has rocking chairs between the two CO gates, 35 and 36. There's a little area that looks onto the planes with a scale model of the airport in front of 'em.

Those sound like the Expressjet livery. They are green and i think they have a pinch of orange in 'em.

When are you going to be there? LAX I am assuming?

Mini-Do golf was hot and sweaty but fun. For when they get home to read this, thanks again for doing the driving. It was great to have you all down my way, and next time we'll go more geographically neutral and hopefully be bigger than a foursome. This may be the beginning of something pretty cool, and I'd have no problem expanding it into flying jaunts if it's the right fare and the right course. A big :D and ^ today.

If you are going to be in SEA in the middle of September and want to meet up, let me know!

A huge ^ to ConciergeMike for arranging today's outing. Free golf at a nice course was amazing and the beer was quite tasty. I look forward to the next Penalty Box golf outing.

If I can find them I got a couple Chase passes that are going to expire in September, I think. Of course, I think they got "filed" or "cleaned up" at some point so odds of me finding them are pretty slim. I'll PM you if they turn up.

Golfing and plane spotting both get big ^^ from me, too. Lots of small private planes, a bunch on NK flights, a C5 lumbering so slowly through the air that it looked like it would drop out of the sky and a couple passes of some fighters all were fun. I had two holes of 10+ and a birdie on a par 5, proving that my golf game is ridiculously inconsistent, but I always end up around the same score. Beer and burgers were a nice ending, and I almost convinced Mike to propose by having the XJet FA present the ring in the soda on the upcoming trip, though rolov topped me by suggesting it be hidden in the turkey puck. And we managed to not spill the beans when she showed up for dinner, though it was close; the awkward pause when she arrived and we all stopped talking was, well, awkward.

Definitely looking forward to the next one.

legal--litigation.

I say CWT because they laid off 96 attorneys out of structured finance this week.

Sorry to hear that! I went through that experience a few years ago. It really does suck.
