I say CWT because they laid off 96 attorneys out of structured finance this week.

Good litigators are always in demand, more so when times get tough.

But that's scary about CWT. What's that, 150 or more this year? Wouldn't you think they'd keep some of those folks around to handle some of the wave of MBS litigation that's coming?

I agree.

When one lives one life in 6-minute increments, the days get really short. More and more short term revenue is being emphasized over long-term growth. For example, I have no real desire to be say a tax attorney. But, if it was between the tax code and the door, I could be pressed into opening and IRS code book.

When are you going to be there? LAX I am assuming?

A couple of weekends in September at IAH, PHL and LGA. I won't be at LAX since I will be flying out of SNA (No PC there)

If I can find them I got a couple Chase passes that are going to expire in September, I think. Of course, I think they got "filed" or "cleaned up" at some point so odds of me finding them are pretty slim. I'll PM you if they turn up.

Please do! :)

I actually am thinking about purchasing a membership if I fully switch to CO. I want to try it before I commit so your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Mini-Do golf was hot and sweaty but fun. For when they get home to read this, thanks again for doing the driving. It was great to have you all down my way, and next time we'll go more geographically neutral and hopefully be bigger than a foursome. This may be the beginning of something pretty cool, and I'd have no problem expanding it into flying jaunts if it's the right fare and the right course. A big :D and ^ today.

Excellent Job and thanks again for arranging the round ^

No notice, just a "we do not have the business to support your position."

Wow...that sucks. I have a friend up here who's been bouncing around a bit lately between firms as they restructure and figure out whether they are going to have business or not. Strangely, most of the Firms that I've seen/talked to lately are continuing to spend money on their IT infrastructure, keeping me in business more than not. Good luck coming out the other side on this!

Gasp. I didn't know that was possible.

I had a V-22 pass over me the other day golfing in HHH, first time I had seen one. The sound got my attention, unlike anything I've ever heard.

A huge ^ to ConciergeMike for arranging today's outing. Free golf at a nice course was amazing and the beer was quite tasty. I look forward to the next Penalty Box golf outing.

Golfing and plane spotting both get big ^^ from me, too. Lots of small private planes, a bunch on NK flights, a C5 lumbering so slowly through the air that it looked like it would drop out of the sky and a couple passes of some fighters all were fun. I had two holes of 10+ and a birdie on a par 5, proving that my golf game is ridiculously inconsistent, but I always end up around the same score. Beer and burgers were a nice ending, and I almost convinced Mike to propose by having the XJet FA present the ring in the soda on the upcoming trip, though rolov topped me by suggesting it be hidden in the turkey puck. And we managed to not spill the beans when she showed up for dinner, though it was close; the awkward pause when she arrived and we all stopped talking was, well, awkward.

Definitely looking forward to the next one.

Thanks to all again for coming down and making a great day. sbm12's 40-yard gift from a tree and rolov's flagstick chip were the golf highlights of the day...even more shocking was my finding the fairway for at least a good part of the round. We should have made more of an effort to take pictures, but I think we were too busy enjoying that there was no group in front of us, since the pace of play was just spectacular. I like Gambler's Ridge for the next one -- on a Saturday after Labor Day sounds good to me. If there are any EWR/PHL area hackers that want in, please say so...the more the merrier, as they say!

S, I was slightly off on my C-5 guess...I spit out 60 feet because I had absolutely no clue and I'd forgotten since being off the job...the interior is only 13.5 feet wide for cargo. :o

I'm rather upset that I'm missing the MV-22 demonstration at this year's ACY airshow. Since I now work at the casino which is the presenting sponsor, somehow I doubt I'll be getting that day off.

That's right...now that's where a camera would have come in really handy.

CLT has rocking chairs as well. I find it a nice Southern touch. Don't care for the sweet tea either nor did I like their pulled pork sandwiches.

Tea is better without the sugar, and airport barbeque sux (except the one place at Memphis), but a real pulled pork sandwich is quite a thing.

Quite understand the try before you buy approach! You'll find the P Club to be far superior to the RCC in almost all aspects. I'm not sure if I have any of the Chase P club passes left, but let me know when you'll be through IAH in Sept. and I'll certainly guest you in if I'm available.

Sorry to hear about the layoff, colpuck. Best of luck finding a new position. During economic slumps, the bankruptcy, personal injury, criminal & divorce sectors tend to thrive...

Bliss, prepare to be very underwhelmed by the LAX PC. It's one of the more ragged clubs in the system (needs a remodel almost as bad as HNL and IAH Terminal B).

Indeed. That place (Corky's) rocks!
