For the NYC'ers it looks like NYC-IAH-MSY is pricing out to around $230 a/i later in the year on co.com. I may make a few of these for some Bourbon St. mascarades.;)

If I book work travel on Continental.com, I will not get reimbursed. If I want to get reimbursed for business travel, I have to use the travel agent. Believe me, I wish I could book on the website. Back when they had the 1,000 mile online booking bonus, and then the 500 mile online booking bonus, I would have earned thousands more redeemable miles. And the Travel Club credits would be worth thousands of dollars every year.

Next year I'm scheduled to go full time around March 1 on a project about 200 miles from my home in Atlanta. The only way I'll be able to fly there is on DL, and based on my research, the fares appear to run in the $500-600 for L, U, and T class. Anything that earns 100% EQMs with CO is even more ridiculously priced for such a short flight. To make it worse, no DL fare classes earn EQPs with CO. So trying to earn Platinum off of short hops on DL on 50% EQM fares means 300 flights at 250 EQMs each. There's no way that's happening, and I expect at some point during 2009 I'll have to just suck it up and do a status match to DL and just become a SkyMiles Medallion member. :(

Oh that sucks. I think it's time you looked for a new job... ;)

Haha. Not an option. I like what I do and where I work far too much to leave right now.

I was just bitten by a ginormous Wolf Spider. It sucked. Thankfully, they aren't especially venomous - just freaky looking.

I caught one in my bar the other day - nasty looking and covered w/ babies.

Can anyone suggest a good seat on the Q200? I'm working on an ABE-CLE-IAH-SEA-CLE-ABE routing to visit Vancouver next month.

I literally have just stepped off the CLE-ABE Q200 today. All of 4 is a decently roomy exit. All of 1 but the window on the port side have tons of leg room.

Well due to an e-mail I just received it looks like I won't have to worry about becoming a DL flyer until July 2009, as opposed to March. So that gives me six months still on my Texas/Louisiana clients to work on getting CO Platinum renewed for 2010. :D

Im in the same boat but thinking about Plat. With my current eqm's 50,050 plus all the trips I already have booked through 2008 I will have ~66,000 eqm's.

I have been doing my calculations and I will need 9081 miles to make plat. with all of my travels already planned for the rest of the year. Maybe I'll throw in a labor day jaunt to sfo, but at $350+ doesn't seem worth it. Then I guess I am going to do some intra-Texas runs so make up the rest.

Hope you enjoy T-Mobile WiFi, then ;)

I suddenly feel like I have no life. I managed to reach Plat at the end of June and by next week i'll hit my first million miles. Sadly, i'm only 10k away from making my 1k on United.

ATL has a PC with free wi-fi.

As for T-Mobile, it's a non-issue for me. My wireless account is with them and includes unlimited access to their wi-fi access points. So I can log right in with no problem at CRCs and RCCs (on the very rare occassion I set foot in a RCC).

I'm more upset with having to switch away from CO for the majority of my business flying, and being stuck on ASA CRJs for many trips once I start this project.

I've missed the Box.

I'm back from my trip to TYS, driving to Bristol, TN (It was a new destination for my flightmemory). TYS was an experience. I spent last night at the airport Hilton (it is about 100 yards from the check-in counters). This morning I overslept, and in 31 minutes I showered, packed, checked out, walked to the airport, checked in, and cleared security. Wow... if only CLE and ORD were that easy. TYS has rocking chairs at some of the gates... I'm quite sure I've never seen that before!

There is a COEX hanger at TYS, and I noticed three EMB sitting there with green tails and an orange circle on the side. I couldn't make out the airline name - anyone have an idea? I assume these are planes that will become COEX planes.

Overall, TN was pretty nice - I'd go back. The people there are incredibly nice and helpful. But that sweet tea they serve... I dunno about that.

Anyway, glad to be back home. I'll have to see what I missed.

Does anyone have a PC pass that they are not going to use and can therefore give it to me? :D :p

Welcome back!

ExpressJet has a maintenance base for the ERJs at TYS. It's possible you either saw some of the ERJs that ExpressJet has been operating outside of the COEX contract, or that those ERJs were planes that another airline (probably outside the US based on your description of them) is outsourcing to ExpressJet for heavy maintenance.
