I never competed and will never be competing for your BF seat. BF is wide-open, while Y is pretty oversold all Christmas season for this route. "R" fares were available for about $3K, and I found a standard BF award when coach is sleazypass. How is that competing for your seat?

I think he was being facetious.

One of these days you'll want to go where I go and maybe get the last standard BF award before I do. :td:

In the old days, I am guessing that a coach award was good enough but now, once you've been exposed to BF, it will seldom be adequate. :)

I see it a different way. More people trying to get in a BF seat means there's demand. That means an airline can get more business class seats, add more flights, etc.

But of course, that's in a very general sense. For you own personal reasons, I can see where you're coming from. :)

Been looking at availability for a trip to London today and it looks like the direct service to LHR from IAH is already filled for most of the Saturdays in late March/early April. Now I may be forced to take VS... darn. :o The Friday flights look to be wide open in the forward cabin.

Now I just wish there was a way to force a stopover in Boston.

Don't worry, as once the sickness progresses, BF may no longer be adequate. He may need fully-flat J, as offered on BD, NZ, SA, BA, VS, UA (one whole airplane :D) etc., and then might need to start banking in another program, so he can redeem for F. Once the sickness goes terminal, your BF seat should be safe. ;)

There's a clinical name for a sickness gone terminal: PHL F(ed).

Thank goodness I don't fly through PHL often. I'm a leisure flyer. PHL is not on the menu :D

That is so true.

I should also clarify that "terminal sickness" should not be confused with "terminal insanity." aka UAL's IAD G ops.

I mean, really. Who does that to humanity? I had no idea Dr. Mengele was also an architect.

Thank goodness that disaster has been put out to pasture.

I think MIA has bipolar disorder. The new area of the terminal where UA flights depart from is spacious, well-lit, and quite nice. CO's area of the terminal is a dismal pit.

Random & Meaningless Survey

Another random & meaningless Penalty Box survey. How many BIS mi. do you have booked between now and Jan. 31? I used the KLS Great Circle Mapper to calculate BIS mileage.

My random & meaningless total:

39,854mi.

That was intentional. It's so CO pax have less contempt for their return to EWR. ;)

CO or total? I've only got ~5K on CO (EWR-SFO r/t) but quite a few more for SFO-SYD-AKL-ZQN/CHC-SYD-SFO on UA.

I was doing total, on any airline, except WN. I am arbitrarily discriminating against WN. :D
