Well, it's more about being split up from my just married wife. ^ Gotta start things out on the up and up.

I'm buying one F ticket and paying for a Y + miles.

As long as she's the one sitting in F I can't see it as too much of a problem. :D Then again, I moved the dates of our honeymoon around until I got the big seats on all the flights, so I guess I'm not a great judge of this sort of thing.

The wife and I often fly in different cabins these days as the companion upgrade doesn't come through as often as I'd like. She usually takes it but sometimes she lets me. I guess after the honeymoon it doesn't matter as much...

I thought siffing was not allowed in FC...

Thanks... I supose I shouldn't mind, as it is a good excuse to increase by Penalty Box post whoring status here with acknowledging the typo. The sad part is that I know I actually typed it originally with an even worse typo and fixed it partially but didn't notice that the "t" was an "f" in both cases.

What do you think is a larger daily publication, merely by volume: (a) The New York Times, or (b) $200 UA Certs for Customer Service Failures?

I'm leaning towards (b), but it's close.

Wth?

all I can say is WTH.....

If that's the case, then I need to start flying UA more often! It has been close to 2 years since CO was nice enough to give me a $ cert (even for VDBs). :( I'm dying for some free/deply-discounted travel paid for with a cert.

Maybe they'll throw in an ATA DC-10 or two with the bid?

Broken Seat = SkyKit
Broken IFE = SkyKit
Broken Empower = SkyKit

Knowing the condition of UA's fleet, it's a goldmine.

And a SkyKit = $200?? Is this in F only?

Dunno. I've only ever flown UA in F/J. The general consensus over on the UA Board seems to be that whatever your issue with UA, if you write a (coherent) letter to UA CS griping about it, you'll generally get a $200 Cert. Back. That has been my experience. I have collected two of them so far. Total number of UA Itineraries: 3.

Definitely (b).

This does appear to be a gold mine. Does a skykit=$200? If so I may have to start flying them and cranking out demand letters at the end of each trip.

That's what I'm thinking too. On UA, it sounds like you can always find a legitimate complaint if you look hard enough. I could pay for my travel in no time!
