I agree. I cannot figure out why people are so worried about being on different PNRs while flying together. The frequency of IRROPS is really not that high, and I have very little trouble getting the seats I want together anyways. It just doesn't seem like a big deal to me to split it.

How much would you save for the R fare versus buying coach, and are the miles seats definitely available?

I would save about $500 buying coach and upgrading with miles. The miles seats are definitely available.

I'd definitely save the cash and use the miles.

I travel with my girlfriend on a seperate PNR all the time and we have never had problems - even during IRROPS.

I gotta give credit to CO on that PDA Site. It's quite a gem. I'm sure the GA's and PC Staff wish it were more widely known about, as it would significantly reduce the "Where am I on the upgrade list?" questions.

You'd think the people who would ask that very question would be ones carrying a data-enabled phone though so they could just refer them once to the site and that would solve everything. The rest of the unwashed masses probably wouldn't care one way or another.

^^^

Only once did I have a problem where they moved my wife out of the exit row seat that I had assigned to her and put a mother there with her 12 year old daughter instead. And even that we managed to get by on; it was just EWR-ATL. No other problems ever with split PNRs.

You should have alerted the flight attendant about the 12 year old in the exit row and had your wife moved back to her original seat. Those "No Children In This Row" signs are there for a reason.

Well, the 12 year old and her mother got moved and another couple was put in the seats instead. The mother wasn't going to sit apart from her kid and the FA was having nothing to do with trying to arrange something to make the swap other than asking one couple who were obviously together to make the trade. It was fine in the end, except for the part where the CSRs kept lying about the fact that my wife was actually originally assigned the seat.

For some reason, it doesn't work on my Nokia 6086. I don't know if others have the same problem as me.

I had to load the opera mini browser to get it to work. Nokia 6820.

Share a PNR and a ring is sure to follow.

I'm such a geek. I had debated whether to include diversions due to weather as separate flights in my FlightMemory (for weeks, no less). Upon seeing Seat 2A's inclusion (in the TravelBuzz Flightmemory Thread) of an irrops unplanned stop in his, I decided to go for it. I now have a rare LFT-MSY segment (due to weather diversion of CO 1423 a few weeks ago), and CUN-JAX-ATL (due to weather diversion of Allegro Air Charter flight). The process did force me to suss out which carrier had taken me ATL-CUN-JAX-ATL back in 2000 (the aforementioned Allegro Air). I originally had it listed as "Charter" in the Flightmemory, which had been keeping me up at nights ;). No worries, as I'll be sleeping soundly this evening.

I count every takeoff and landing, including diversions. That's how I ended up with BHM-ATL on CO on mine. Of course BHM-ATL isn't an unusual route; flying it on a CO 737 is.

My listings of "Dad's Airline" in my FlightMemory are an homage to my father teaching me how to fly when I was a kid. I debated including those, especially given the use of the "unique airport" feature. I've also figured out that the only way I can ever beat my shortest flight is to do the NYC helo shuttle, because one of those flights with my father was a whopping 21 miles.

I put all my flights in my flightmemory. In fact this past weekend I wrote to them to put a button for charter and for private plane travel. I have added several airports and it is cool to have both commericial and civil aviation ones on my map. Plus by putting in the private ones it adds a whole nother deminsion of flights that I can have to unigue airports.

I loaded it. Now, if I can just get the phone to grant it access to use. Thanks for the idea.

I completely forgot about the Cessna 152 flights I took from Hooks to do touch-and-gos at some airport up near The Woodlands
