I'm such a geek. I had debated whether to include diversions due to weather as separate flights in my FlightMemory (for weeks, no less). Upon seeing Seat 2A's inclusion (in the TravelBuzz Flightmemory Thread) of an irrops unplanned stop in his, I decided to go for it. I now have a rare LFT-MSY segment (due to weather diversion of CO 1423 a few weeks ago), and CUN-JAX-ATL (due to weather diversion of Allegro Air Charter flight). The process did force me to suss out which carrier had taken me ATL-CUN-JAX-ATL back in 2000 (the aforementioned Allegro Air). I originally had it listed as "Charter" in the Flightmemory, which had been keeping me up at nights ;). No worries, as I'll be sleeping soundly this evening.

Allegro Air - LOL! Obviously prior to your FT days (one would hope).

Yes. Spring Break Charter Flight back in 2000. Flight was delayed 12 hours departing ATL (because our 727-200 was broken down in CUN). I blew through a few $100 on a bar tab, drinking top-shelf on a fake ID at ATL, and was damn-near broke when I got to CUN, so had to mooch off my buddies for the rest of that trip. First and only trip to CUN. Atlantic City has more soul than that place.

Heh, at least they do not really require ID in the ATL airport anymore, or I am just starting to look my age..............

Well if you want to feel young, head to MCO and order a drink at the Chili's there. I've seen them card an elderly woman who came in with a walker and had to be pushing 80 when she ordered a glass of wine.

I'd definitely save the cash and use the miles.
I travel with my girlfriend on a seperate PNR all the time and we have never had problems - even during IRROPS. I looked up flights for 7/20-7/25 and there is availability. Now the resort informs me that we get a free night and I want to do 7/20-7/26, but there is no availability on the last segment (IAH-AUS). There is Reward availability on the flight but not upgrade availability. Should I purchase the ticket, use the miles to upgrade, and hope that it clears? Also, would trip insurance be worth it for a trip to BZE? (speaking of which, I get to add a cool FlightMemory airport, SPR, San Pedro Airstrip, where the baggage claim is a rope beside the runway) |

can you just book without the AUS-IAH leg, and pay cash for it. Due to WN, AUS-IAH is a relatively cheap ticket.

OIC, there's a bit more to this than the simple matter of IAH-AUS. How does booking Multi-City for most of the trip, with a separate One-Way IAH-AUS affect the total cost?

The roundtrip ticket is $568 + miles. |
Is the OP of the question, looking for reward travel for the whole trip or an upgrade reward for IAH-AUS flight?

Although, if you are getting the insurance because of a fear of health/safety issues, I would not be worried at all. I felt very safe when in BZE. |
