If I could find the thread, I would link it...that UA thread is almost as funny as the thread in Travel Photography where a guy takes the camera purchase recommendation of "a Glock with a laser sight" seriously. He posts later that he's "not familiar with that manufacturer".:D

I was looking at a JRB-SJO fare this afternoon and on finding that I could not fly out on a Saturday, I took the lowest fare, $548. It leaves on Friday and returns on Tuesday.

As I went to choose the flights I noticed that the JRB-EWR leaves Friday while the EWR-SJO segment leaves on Saturday morning.

I've been able to get this to happen on other routes as well. So basically, I get to fly to Newark to spend the night there :p

Micro-Do Thursday?

I'm back in town... anyone in Houston up for a drink Thursday (2/28/08) night?

Nice ^^

The helicopter service doesn't run on weekends, which is why you can't book the Saturday trip. That being said, it is a standard forced overnight booking, even though the first segment is only 12 miles.

I take it you weren't in the pointy end of the aircraft, where the free booze helps to take the edge off such issues? One should avoid flying DL down the back.

I may be up for it...just waiting for something to finalize before I'll know.

I was right before the pointy section begins , which made it worse , as i could see the mojitos and bloody mary's flowing only 2 rows ahead of me.

313 airports. Our CO Insider has significantly more. And current maximum is 1,085.

Damn!!! All of a sudden I feel so.... insignificant!

What I want to know is how he managed to keep track of all that flying before Flightmemory existed. That'd make for some serious record-keeping. Not to mention many, many, many, MANY hours of data entry to get them all logged.

On a related note, is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that most people end up having their average flight right around 2hrs and 900-1000 miles?

A lot of people keep all their BPs. Or if they're pilots, they definitely will have kept their log books.

My average flight is 1,998mile; or 4 hours. I guess that's double the average. :)
