I've unleashed a monster.

According to no less of an esteemed source than Ben Stiller, anything with nipples can be milked, so we'll have to see what happens.
On another note, the last 4 hours is probably the shortest timeframe in which I have ever seen The Box fill a complete page...it's been a veritable frenzy of posting between George's OLCI and talk of all things nipular. |
I would post this in its own thread but I'm worried I would get yelled at... It looks like it is going to be an ugly travel day.
My 7:20pm flight AUS-IAH was cancelled this morning due to ATC  I'm guessing what they really mean is weather. What was weird was that I received a phone call at 7am saying the flight was delayed, then a call at 7:45am saying it was cancelled, and a call just a second ago (as I was on the phone with the elite line) saying I was rebooked on the 6:45am tomorrow. I opted for the 6:20pm tonight. |

I'm guessing what they really mean is weather. That being said, I'm sure that ATC called up CO and said something like "storms are a brewin'. Y'all gotta cancel up some flights." So since the edict was handed down by ATC they'll go that route. |
IAH is going to be a real mess today. When I got into downtown, the wind must have been blowing at least 30mph (steady, not gusting). The sky is taking on that nice, pitch-black color with a tinge of green to the North. Projected tornados and severe thunderstorms for the late morning and early afternoon. Just another day in paradise.

Back to the nipple discussion for a minute...
When I wa growing-up, there was only one type of milk. Moo-cow-milk.
(Language is a bit rough if you're fixin' to watch this at work.) |

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D052; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320)
Had a friend at AUS going standby on AA to DFW. Everything is cancelled to the north. |
I'm just glad I'm not flying today, since IAH is not doing so well with this weather system. Landing yesterday afternoon was pretty rough, and the wind is a lot stronger today than it was then.

My fiancee is taking me to the airport, in the off chance that the flight gets cancelled, can she get through security AUS with me using a gate pass? (line 53?)
I'd rather have her stay at the airport with me in case the flight gets cancelled and she can take me home. |
If you have a PC membership she can. It is GG CHECKPOINT LINE 53.

Good Deal Alert - Hotels.com/Expedia
I know a lot of people don't pay Hotel Deals Forum much attention, but this is a limited time offer, so thought I would multi-post (also alerted the SPG forum). See the Hotel Deals Forum Thread for more details. Expedia/Hotels.com are having a 24-hour sale (ends tonight at 11pm Pacific Time). Fairmont San Francisco is 75% off, with Suites starting at $200/night (usually $800/night). Dozens of other properties and dozens of cities in other chains available (SPG, HHonors, Hyatt, Radisson, etc), with varying ranges of discounts. Purchases over $350 on Hotels.com are eligible for 90-days no payments with Bill Me Later. There's also a rebate offer (up to $100) for Bill Me Later purchases.
I got three nights in a Tower Suite at the Fairmont SFO for Labor Day Weekend for less than what one night in the same suite usually costs. Enjoy. |
thanks for the heads up
im looking into hotels.com right now |
Thanks. Just booked 2 nights in May (Mother's Day) for 50% off plus the 10% coupon. Mrs. SG is elated.

I spotted an AA 752 at IAH yesterday. Nice to see some different aircraft types now and again (though I'm sure the passengers weren't happy to be 300 miles south).
What was really strange was seeing only one AA jet at the gates in AUS. All the others were parked on the tarmac, around nine in all. |
