Nice to hear a first hand report. ^ I saw the new seats going in on Delta's first 772LR at Boeing back in January and I agree that, from a distance, they didn't look as bad as the pictures.

I intended to take pics on this trip, as I'll be enjoying LA new Biz seats as well...but my Camera took this opportunity to go kaput . Oh well, guess I'll be saving up for a Digital SLR before my upcoming May extravaganza:

IAH-FRA (LH F 744)
FRA-OSL (LH EuroC)
OSL-SVO (SU J TU154)
SVO-HKG (SU J 763)
HKG-BKK (CX F 744)
BKK-FRA (TG C 744)
FRA-IAH (LH F 744)

I've got that one earmarked as my first true FT Trip-Report write-up.

It's official. The DL 772LR is sweet. It's about time a SkyTeam carrier introduced 180-Degree, True Horizontal Flat seats in business class. The cabin actually looks quite nice, unlike the tacky photos that first appeared over on the DL forum and A.net (must have been the lighting). Good padding on the seats as well.

Thanks for the report ^
I sat in the seat at the DL 360 in NYC , it was pretty cool but i felt I really wanted to see it in the actual cabin.
What is the layour 1-2-1 ?

Nice! That's a lot of 744s!

Good luck with that Tu154 - they're classics! In addition to reclining, the seats in coach actually fold forward (very odd)! The oak (?) wood trim along the overheads and the wood carvings on the bulkheads were unique touches as well!

Yes, 1-2-1. IMO, 2A is the best seat on the plane (2A is the first window seat on the port side). Almost all the seats are identical, but there's some sort of enclosed metal area to the left of 2A (perhaps a box containing the AVOD equipment) that makes a handy shelf for storing things during flight. Also, it's far enough back from the galley and lavs that I doubt noise would be too much of a problem there.

I much prefer the pointy-end for longhauls. However, I will be roughing it in CO Y next month IAH-AMS.

I much prefer the pointy end for anything, even if it's only 20 minutes in the air -- unless it's a RJ/prop with no first class. Then it's the exit row. ;)

The computers are down at IAH. There was a large explosion near the Beltway, not sure if that had anything to do with it.

I'm guessing that pretty much shoots the upgrade down. It will be interesting to see how they handle the upgrades with no computers since there are six or so seats open.

"who's Plat? alright you get a seat..."

(edit)

waiting on paperwork from downtown... In the FA's words: "it'll be here in a minute"

Sounds like yesterday was a good day to get out of IAH, then. After two straight weeks of no EUAs (0-4), it was nice to have a 5-Day EUA for my IAH-JFK segment Thursday night. And that cheese soup...mmmmm (seriously, WTH?)

Wow, my reasoning skills are up there. Cloud of smoke, no computers, and all of the sudden I'm Miss Cleo. :D

When I first saw the smoke rising I thought "plane crash", but figured it had to be something near the freeway and not a huge deal as the tarmac was still abuzz.

Oh, our 737 had a nice little game of chicken with an ERJ. Our pilot chickened out and slammed on the brakes. Fridays during Spring Break are the best.

Did you use your Miss Cleo powers to score an upgrade? :)
