Delta no longer holds reward rez

In another enhancement of the DL program, they will no longer hold a reward reservation booked via the phone, according to the email I just got.

Click don't call, as our Reservation agents no longer hold Award Tickets. But if you're not 100% sure of your travel plans, you can hold an Award Ticket for up to 48 hours at delta.com.
Looks like they are pulling everything of any value out of their program in an effort to race US to the bottom. Sucks for SkyMilers :td:

Time to head over to the DL forum and watch the carnage :D

Glad some others were able to make use of the hotel deal (and Kudos to BEAV for spotting it). As soon as my folks heard about it, they were all-in. Five nights for them in a Main Building Suite, over Memorial Day Weekend, for only $1050 total (including 10% coupon). They were suitably chuffed.

Air Astana (of Kazakhstan) is offering to match BD Golds to Top-Tier Elite in their program (Status good for two years). Details here.. I'm so doing this, if only for the luggage tags. Think I'll get the Nomad Club Gold Elite Card framed as well. :D

I saw that earlier and couldn't come up with a good reason to bother. The luggage tags seem like a good one :)

Personally, I never know when I'll wake up in an Almaty gutter, with only 100 Uruguayan Pesos to my name, a head full of fog, and wearing only a yak-pelt unitard. As the Boy Scout motto dictates: Be Prepared.

I want to know what the luggage tags look like first, if they are made out of uncured yak, no way.:p

Wasn't Astana Borat's official airline? Sexy time with yak in airline lav? Great success!!!!!!

DL really seems to be heading downhill again after about 18 months of steady customer service improvements - closing BE lounges, limiting availability of SkyChoice (or whatever it's called), closing several CRC's, and now this.

I was unable to get any of the dates in June that I wanted at the Fairmont. :td:

As long as they continue with the rollout of lie-flat seats, and as long as their BE meal service continues to be excellent, they're near the top of my SkyTeam list for reward redemptions next year (when lie-flats should be esconced permanently on several routes).

Yes, I look forward to trying their lie-flats.

Air Astana status match email sent. This should be interesting :D

I wonder if Air Koryo matches other FFPs?

Website Pics for the 767 product look like BF, but 2-2-2 configuration. I'm just in it for the luggage tags.

The seats and interior look identical to the old KL 763's - I assume they picked a few up from KL (those seats actually are fairly comfortable, IMO).
