Can we get better 'on hold' music/information from co.com support? I've been on hold/trying to figure out the problem for the last hour. I'm tired of hearing about checking in online (and getting my non-existent kid to do it for me), searching co vacations for a vacation, and Houston/bush international customers.

So far today
2 cancelled flights
one via voicemail and another via tripalert
and just minutes ago PDA site now shows me in the pointy section after a nice delay
:D

I was told today that a trip to Denver would be required next week (after being told I was training a client Monday and Tuesday next week). Then I was told I don't need to make the trip. Then I was told "We're not really sure, we'll know something tomorrow".

Now I'm trying to decide if I stick it to them for keeping me in limbo for almost a week by buying the Continental fare (which has the return in First due to heavy traffic) or going with NW and a single connection.

Personally, I'd make 'em pay. Think of it as payback for not sending you on enough trips. ;)

Regional Airline of the Year?

So yesterday on my usual Thursday CHQ flight 5900 ORD-CLE, there was a new award posted beside the boarding door of the plane. The award was a 2008 Regional Airline of the Year award for Republic Airlines (parent of CHQ).

How can that possibly be????

Of course, in true CHQ fashion they could't be bothered last night with actual cabin service. Maybe the award was for that.

Arggg..

Regional Airline of the year??? Is that like being voted prisoner most likely to succeed from Huntsville State Prison???

And a friednly bump for The Box...it's been dead in here the last 3 days. I know The Box is usually a Mon-Fri crowd, but come on now. I miss the FT equivalent to Seinfeld.

So that's the confluence of boredom, creativity, and a pilot's license.

Any money to burn (literally, as fuel for your flight), though I suppose the pilot's license implies that. Those flights took 4+ and 8+ hours to make those patterns. That's a lot of money to spend on fuel.

I haven't been on an airplane in 4 weeks- for the second time so far this year  I'm going stir-crazy. I have a flight this weekend on a reward ticket on an ERJ. It almost doesn't count :(

Hopefully I get my April-May schedule figured out soon and then I can book some PHL runs to get my EQM counter rolling. Nothing like a couple mid-week transcon routings <$220 to make some progress.

Those should be test flights by the aircraft manufacturers.

At least they're more creative than Boeing running circles over the Pacific Ocean for 9 hours on various -ER models that have. ;)

Wow - a RJ reward? I hope you at least got that one for half price! :)

Check out PHL-PDX - FC is listing it as $178+.

20K miles +$50 in taxes. The $$ fare was $450, and I'm only semi-employed right now, so the miles was a no-brainer. At least I have Barbie's F seat (12) for both flights.

Yeah, but there is zero L inventory for a LONG time. Best I can find is SJC or LAS. LAS is nice because there's the immediate turn back onto a redeye back to IAH, rather than sleeping in SJC until the morning. I'll end up on one of those, I'm sure, sooner than not. I'm pretty close to getting a couple months gig for an old client of mine, which will be great on the revenue side, but it will prevent me from some of these trips. I just need to firm up dates with the guy before I go and buy the tickets. The CPM goes up a lot when you have to throw one or two of them away ;)
