Gracias Hartmann.

Lookin' up the Hyatt now. Which will conveniently qualify me at mid-tier for Hyatt for 09.

Sorry, but Hyatt is now coverted to Doubletree.
(If you look at the google map Hartmann sent, address of Hyatt is the same as Doubletree.)

Yeah, sorry, I forgot that they did this... And of course, Google lets me down again. :p

If you insist on Hyatt chain (for double-stay promo I guess), there is a Hyatt Place (converted from Ameri Suites) at Greenspoint.

It's 2 miles+ west from JFK blvd, but they provide free shuttle.

The hotels over there are fine. It's the streets with all of the older apartments that you have to worry about some.

And actually, much of Greenspoint's bad reputation for crime is based on incidents 15 years ago. I'm not calling it a really nice part of Houston, but it is significantly safer than it used to be, and I've never seen anything around the office towers and hotels that made me feel unsafe.

Another good hotel recommendation for IAH is the Hampton Inn & Suites on JFK. It's just over a year old, and the rooms are nicer than most of those at the Sheraton and Marriott hotels at the airport, at about half the price. It's one of the nicest Hamptons I've ever stayed in.

The box delivers! Thanks for the tips.

I'm on the companys dime so I don't necessarily need to cheap it up. I might end up at the Hyatt place as its probably guaranteed to be clean. And I'm a sucker for huge TVs.

Another retardo question. Where on the co mobile site does it show upgrades? I know I've found it before but for whatever reason I can't find it.

Cheers.

The upgrade standby link.

If you leave off the /info you get the standard site without all of the goodies.

Ding! I was leaving off the /info. Thanks.

Too bad I'm third in the que as a plat on an H fare rebooked as a Y.

Curse. 31" here I come.

Gotta love the new PDA website. This morning my flight to EWR (which I previously posted about getting a 5 day EUA on a L fare) had an empty seat in F. And a quickly checked the PDA website comfortably seated in 2B after boarding was complete and saw that there was nobody on the upgrade standby list. So the seat went out empty, and nobody was left sitting in the back who was entitled to a complimentary upgrade into it.

For the record, a passenger was supposed to be in the empty seat, but obviously was a no show for the flight.

I recommend the Hilton or DoubleTree.

It's always a tossup between the Marriott or Sheraton for me. Last night I ended up at the Sheraton, damn Starwood for giving me stay challenges!
