Good to know. :-:

This might force me to go with my DL Shuttle tactic. Carry 4 Wendy's chili's on board and threaten anyone that comes within a 3 seat radius of me with a discourse on my GI problems and how it gets aggrivated by fast food chili ... "I know I shouldn't, but i just had a craving."

Then i found out from my co worker that we can book F for Acela.
But i have not been on it since.

I've never had an assigned seat in F either. If you are boarding in WAS or NYP you'll have no problem finding a seat. If you get on mid-run there may be issues.

CRCs often carry local brews.

ATL - Sweetwater 420
BOS - Sam
DFW - Shiner
SEA - (Don't Recall the Name, but it was good)

I don't recall if the MSY CRC carries Abita. Will check next time I'm through (this weekend).

Yeah, I know (and love them for it) but I hadn't seen Sam in this environment for a long long time and it really struck a nostalgic chord.

I did not know that, i thought F was assigned.
I always boarded in NWK Penn and the train was always full.

Indeed, depending on the time of the train it can get very crowded at the boarding gate in NYP.

Discussing outside the BOX....

a MAX JET has landed in Stillwater, OK. For those that dont know where that is, it is ten miles west of the middle of no where. I will post a picture link later on. Paint job looked nice. Counldnt tell from the uniforms who the crew was working for? DOes anyone know if they are doing charters now. I heard from someone today that the charter flight was costing about $750 a person from here to New Orleans with air, food, groundtransport. Not a bad deal for the last minute. But alas I would not earn miles on anyone so no need to fly.

It is for the basket ball team but interesting that a MaxJet plane would be flying when they arent doing passenger service.
Are they doing just charters now?

I think they stopped passenger service , but can still fly charters .
Im not sure exactly but the plane seats 100 in an all biz config unless they retrofitted it .

Gotta love UA

Every time I defect over to UA in my quest to keep some sort of Star Alliance status it's an adventure. Monday's flights were flawless -- upgrade to F on the EMB-170 from ATL to IAD, upgrade to C on an international 777 from IAD to DEN, nice flight on the DHC-8 over the Rockies to GJT. All flights departed on time and arrived early. All crews friendly and attentive.

Then comes my return trip this morning. The DHC-8-200 I was scheduled to fly back to DEN arrives at GJT and pulls up to the gate. This was the most ultra-ghetto plane I think I've ever flown on. Left engine had been repainted in new UA colors. Right engine had most paint stripped off, but what was still left was old UA. And the fuselage was mostly primer, with some areas revealing the plane's former life in HP Express colors, and others showing old UA colors. Inside it was so filthy and worn out it made the worst of NW's DC-9s look shiny and new. NW at least pulls out the navy blue duct tape when the carpet gets ripped, but apparently UA and Mesa are too cheap for even that. I was sitting in row 1, and gravity was about the only thing keeping the carpet on the floor near the plane's boarding door. A couple of passengers even tripped over the ripped up pieces of carpet where there apparently used to be some sort of threshold that separated the carpet from the hard floor covering in front of the door.

Usually I look forward to flying the Dash 8. But this one needs to either be put out to pasture, or given a serious overhaul.

Absolutely pointless Box posting so as to reach #600. I just came from a cooking class with the executive chef at Morton's Atlantic City. Not unlike OPFlyer, I felt like I couldn't let 599 sit overnight.

What are you talking about, they have a Holiday Inn, that's right across the street from a pig farm. The also have that Joe's place which is the local watering hole.

I actually think the campus is kinda nice all done in Georgian style.

Actually we are in the middle of a hotel/motel building boom. They are adding about 4 or 5 new properties in town. BTW, Joe's is world Famous if you read their PR and both President Bushs' graduation speech talked of it fondly (although I dont think they stopped for the cheese fries like they mentioned). Stillwater isn't that bad but after you live here vs. visiting it does change your thoughts on the town. I mean I have to drive 1.5 hours to get on a plane vs. 20 minutes when I lived in LBB. Yes the campus is nice.
