We run Lotus Notes on a domino server. I know IBM said they were going to work on a solution, but I'm not holding my breathe we'll see something by year end.

I actually expected Notes integration before the Exchange integration based on IBM's efforts, but it looks like just licensing the ActiveSync connector was enough for Apple so Exchange is in now.

Aha! A nerf launcher sounds like a good idea. Maybe that marshmallow canon I see in SkyMall.

http://www.smoop.com/Bunkerbound_USB...cher+2050.html is a link to the missle launcher thing I got. Not bad as a toy. But it was only like $40. Hardly a good use of a $600 prize.

And thanks for the link to the techy forum thing. I never knew that existed. If I venture too far outside my usual haunts on FT, I might end up in omni. :o

Yeah...it is fun. Scott, the main contributor, is ScottC on FT and is one of the mods in the Travel Technology forum. I contribute a little bit to it as well, but not nearly as much as he does.

There are plenty of safe places to explore on FT outside of the CO forum and OMNI. It just takes a while to find them.

The one airport where I could see Clear making some sense is MCO, especially during peak tourist seasons.

But I'm far more interested in the TSA expanding its "Black Diamond" program and making that successful. I know HOU is included in the pilot group of airports for that program. I'm looking forward to trying it out in a few weeks.

I was just in MCO a few weeks ago , and the lines were crazy , I asked where the first class line and they laughed at me .
They said we have the CLEAR line and the regular line.

Anyone have Herman Miller's Aeron chair? What do you think of it?

I used to have one at a previous job and really liked it. It took a little adjusting to get it just right but once it was there it was great. My only complaint was that when someone else sat down in it and changed the adjustments, it could be a pain to get it all back where I wanted it. It's one of those chairs that's great when it's adjusted to the way you like it, but can be painfully uncomfortable if it's adjusted for someone else.

But now I'm a consultant and in a different place every week, so I have to sit on whatever is in the room I'm working in.

I think I've seen a consultant in our office sitting on an overturned trashcan. No joke. ;)

I'm really jonesin' for an iPhone but I don't think the web email access would hack it. My job is kinda nutty in that I'm "on call" 24/7 and 99% of what I do is over email. Our webmail interface with Safari is crap, and I don't think I can link it up to iMail. And I'll be damned if I'm going to bring my crashputer herniamatic 3000 everywhere with me.

Carrying an iPhone + the crack is just too much. Plus there's the whole problem of what phone number to I assign the iPhone. And, not having it turned on, waiting for the compatibility would just be a tease.

But, in the spirit of drooling over a MacBook Air, I think I'll take a journey to my local Apple store tonight and speak to a genius.

Speaking of multiple phones, I have 2 blackberrys (1 work and 1 personal) and I thought that was a lot. I sat next to a guy in F from LGA-IAH 2 months ago that had 3 phones (iPhone, BBerry, and old school nokia) and 2 laptops (1 apple and 1 mac) with him. He also pulled out his stack of FF and Hotel cards bragging about his travels. I believe he's a FT'er as well but tried not to talk to much as it was the 5:40am flight.

I think I've met that same guy a couple of times gbryan84. He really likes to brag about how much he flies and can be somewhat obnoxious (if it's who I'm thinking of).

I'm quite happy my employer is willing to let us get a phone and reasonable voice/data plan of our choosing, and then just submit the bill for reimbursement each month. Makes it so much easier!

Maybe the BF understands now why I said the other day he shouldn't fly US. He flew ATL-PHX-SEA today; his luggage (really my luggage he borrowed with his stuff in it) flew ATL-PHL and stopped there. Fortunately US says they can get it to him late tonight at the hotel in Seattle.

J.Edward Apr 29, 2008 6:30 pm

....well that's what you get when you don't sign up for US's CC inflight. :p

1 apple and 1 mac? ;)

I carry two computers while on business sometimes, but never more than 1 phone.

If Parallels counts, then I carry 3. 1 Mac with Parallels and a ThinkPad for work. :D

And yes, I am congratulating him partly to pad my own post count in The Box.

Congratulations, ALCO!
