Not since 1998.

There were actually kind of good back then. I flew them several times in 1997 and 1998 and the crews were nice, the planes were clean, and the service was quite good. In those days they were serving some pretty decent meals out of IAH to PHL and CLT in Y — almost equivalent to CO's current domestic F meals in size and taste.

I haven't been on US since March 2001, and even then, they weren't too bad. I mainly flew them that time to get a ride on a F-100.

You should do it for sh*ts and giggles.

That's another reason I'm flying them next week.

I rode one of their F-100s CLT-GSP. I've only taken US twice - Summer of 1997 and Spring of 1998:

IAH-PHL-SWF, BWI-PIT-IAH
IAH-CLT-GSP-CLT-IAH

I've flown three trips on them:

IAH-CLT-BWI, BWI-PHL-IAH - 733, 734, DH8, 733
IAH-PHL, PHL-IAH - 73S, 734
ATL-PIT, PIT-ATL - M80, F100 (flew CO between IAH and ATL on that one; crazy cheap itinerary for work booked on Expedia)

So you are saying we go into NBC , we tell them we have and idea for
a show , they ask what it is about
and we say
Nothing

I think you may have something there

I am kind of looking forward to flying US again in a crazy way. I remember CLT being a nice airport, and with this trip it will mark the first time I've ever flown CO, NW, DL, AA, UA, and US all in the same year. US is also the only legacy I've never flown in F on.

I was forced to fly US a few times this year and a lot last year. Most of my itineraries were DFW-CLT-ROA and IAH-CLT-ROA. Gotta love their D-8s.

Their 737s were some of the most disgusting aircraft I've ever seen.

I'm fully expecting that. 10 years ago they weren't bad, but I doubt they've been cleaned much since around 2001-2002. And while I hadn't flown HP after one trip on them in June 2001, their 737s were beyond disgusting back then. Now with the HP management running the combined operation, I'm sure the grime has been allowed to grow on those planes. Most of those 737s are over 20 years old now too.

I plan on taking along a fresh bottle of hand sanitizer and lots of anti-bacterial wet wipes.

I believe there's medications that can help you.

Yes, CLT is a pleasure to connect through, but is nothing to write home about.

In other news - to the person who was complaining about the redesign of gmail, mine just reloaded while I was at lunch. I agree, this is just ugly. Mauve?

That was me. It gets a little better if you switch it to the "Classic" theme but it's still a little different (and ugly).

huh? I'm sitting here looking at my nice, unchanged gmail. Is this some sort of staggered rollout?

I'm in IE, if that changes anything.

Yes, they're rolling out themes for Gmail. You should have it in the next day or so.
