I hope the weather isn't too disastrous tomorrow. Hearing about the upcoming storm reminded me of when on I got stuck at EWR on my way to FRA last year during the ice storm that forced them to close the airport.
Now, the issue is that every time I check my seats, I have a different one. 1A, 1B, 1A, 1B. But it certainly like a 735 with just 8FCs. |

It looks like NYC will stay above freezing tomorrow afternoon. I certainly expect delays, but I know CO won't cancel CO99 a week before Christmas unless it's really really bad. I also have three chances to make it EWR. I'm on CO89, there are still two more flights later that can get me to EWR.

And no, no AVOD. If I had flown out today, as originally scheduled, then both IAH-EWR and EWR-HKG flights would have been AVOD, and I had 44L for both legs!!! (Saturday morning CO52 IAH-EWR is 772 in winter). My 2007 AVOD percentage would have shot up to 3/4 or 75%. Now, it'll go down to 1/3 (33%); but I'm not complaining. ;) |

Nah, as long as I'm in Row 1 or 2, I'm fine.

All you degenerates know about the $250 MIA-ANC fare, right? Just making sure, in case you never step out of the CO Forum :D

Congrats! Now you'll come over to the dark side of those of us who've been spoiled by BF and never want to sit behind row 10 on the 777 again. :p

Well, I'm still in row 44 for coming home 1/6. It'd be a miracle if I can go BF again in the near future. :)
So what were your impressions of BF? |

Darn! I was away from FT for the weekend and miss a great CO mileage run opportunity for next year.
South Beach and Skiing in Anchorage all in the same weekend. Sounds good to me. :D |
Sounds like fun! Sun and snow in the same weekend. Almost like my trips back and forth between Houston and Minneapolis last winter (and again this winter). Except Miami and Alaska are a little more scenic for beaches and/or mountains than Houston and the Twin Cities.

Are you able to do Plan B, or was there no standard coach availability?
ssulllivan - I thought you were going to mention the upgrade flirt! As for BF, it's very nice. Especially since there's no one beside me. Well, there was, but she moved. Lots of empty seats... Well, who knows many people whose waitlist didn't clear. Hehe... Anyways, I like the lay back, casual, but personalize way they handle the meals. It's almost like you can have whatever, whenever you want it; fast, slow, more food, less food, no problem. I didn't actually sleep more than sitting in coach. But the quality of the sleep is much better. I also found backing up from the "full flat" to the cradle a bit very good. I was still sliding a bit, but the foot rest stopper worked. The seat is very comfortable for watching a movie or reading. The congee breakfast was pretty bad, however. I would have gotten the omelette if I hadn't had the omelette on IAH-EWR. |

Anyway, I've not had to result to the upgrade flirt yet. Well, maybe not for BusinessFirst. But I was borderline-upgrade-flirty one Thursday night with a Northwest gate agent at MSP back in March. There was one F seat still not assigned, and I had no EUA. Shortly after boarding started, she called me up and gave me a boarding pass for 1A, then announced "first class has checked in full." I don't think I was that flirty (65 year old obese women working as Northwest gate agents aren't really my type)... but when I asked her about the upgrade earlier she had smiled a blinked and said "There's only one seat left but I'll see what I can do." I don't know if I was at the top of the list or not, but I got the upgrade, which is all that counts. |
Another who should be (and was) a coach customer now competing for BF seats with those of us who have been using it since the day it was instituted. :td:
It becomes tougher and tougher because of guys like this. ;) . They learn too much reading FT. |

BF is wide-open, while Y is pretty oversold all Christmas season for this route. "R" fares were available for about $3K, and I found a standard BF award when coach is sleazypass. How is that competing for your seat? |
