Yeah, whatever. They could take the NW route and fix a broken ceiling panel with a roll of navy blue duct tape and a staple gun, like I saw done on a DC-9-50 last month after part of a ceiling panel fell down during boarding at DTW.

Well, that figures...it's NW. You couldn't expect the buffoons up in MSP to recognize the long-term cost-savings advantages of using hot dipped galvanized nuts, now could you? :p

Make you wonder if the NW folks here in Eagan (I'm about a 15 minute drive from their HQ as I type this) buy navy blue duct tape by the truckload. |

Yep. And Sunday night's circa-1967 DC-9-30? The floor in the front boarding/galley area had the navy blue duct tape in three places to repair seams in the vinyl floor covering. The best was the four strips of duct tape that were holding the aisle carpet down where it met the floor, since apparently NW is too broke to invest in a real threshold to transition from the floor to the carpet.

Attention Aviation Enthusiasts, CO is now employing 1/2-13 Hot Dipped Galvanized Nuts (Part No. PHHHN1213HDG) as fasteners to anchor the ceiling panels to its fleet of 737NG aircraft. The casual observer will not be able to tell the difference...but the true enthusiast will gain that extra bit of pleasure on future CO flights, knowing that CO is the first to push the envelope a notch further, by moving away from those oh-so pedestrian Grade 2H 1/2-13 Slotted Nuts (Part No. PHHHN1213HDQ). I'm already adjusting my flying patterns in hopes that I'll be one of the first to fly on the newly equipped birds. :p
I love the old 2H nuts .. btw im on a flight back to EWR from ORD and they have stopped us at the end of the runway due to a ground stop at EWR, they said EWR is down to 1 runway My Iphone is not showing this , should i show the pilot so he can get clearance to depart like in the TV commercial ??? |

Yeah, no kidding. I love how DL was making a big deal about that fake wood flooring in the MD-80 lavs while at the same time putting plastic cups in domestic F. At least now they've returned to real glassware in F, although plastic reigns supreme these days at the ATL CRCs, thanks to the water shortage there.
