As an aside, can I ask what has happened to Cigarman? Have not seen him post in a LONG time.

Thanks.

cigarman posted in one of the LHR threads awhile back.

I think the answer is Si as the web page does not mention Mexico:

At one point I thought that only MEX was included for Mexican destinations, but I don't know any more. I'd jsut go do it and see if they let you in. Of course, you were asking several hours ago and you're probably already in Mexico by now enjoying umbrella drinks, but I figured I'd respond anyways...

Ugh.....the co.com spezials are on-time....I, too, and frustrated. Sometimes they come out late in the day, though....

"We are currently selecting this week's Specials."

Why not

"We are checking with Santa to see if you've been a good boy last week"?

Hmm... my magic ball predicts the following exciting, world-class, vacation destinations for this weekend's CO specials:
  • HSV
  • LBB
  • MLU
  • SHV
  • MCI
  • OKC
  • AMA
  • DRT
  • MGM
  • JAN
  • BHM
  • And the always popular SJT (if you have 3 wives, that is).

All are priced $99-$159 round trip, or $29 + 15,000 OnePass miles. And all are EUA eligible, provided you can actually find a 737 flying to the destination you chose.

Good luck! Enjoy your weekend get away thanks to Continental.com Specials!

Ugh. My team manager just called. There's a possibility I'll get on a great project for two years that pretty much guarantees me a very nice bonus for both of those years starting in early 2009. Only problem? It's in South Carolina. I'll be living in Atlanta, which means I'd have virtually no choice but to fly DL. I could suck it up and do it (after all, ATL-CHS is a very short flight) if I knew I could earn CO status doing that. But given this merger crap, the odds of me being able to do that appear to be quite slim. So I'm torn. Do I pick what could be a great project at work and be a DL flyer, or do I turn it down and keep my CO status? Or do I pray that this merger falls apart and CO and DL remain partners?

LBB is a Co.com special this weekend but pricing out at $119+. Last week I noticed that the min was $119 as well. I wonder if they are imposing a 20% fuel surcharge on the specials now?

Please forgive the tone should it not sound right, but if you are really evaluating your airline status needs ahead of your moneymaking potential, I'm not sure what to tell you...the ideas seem kinda reversed.

Whatever you do, don't credit to SkyMiles if you end up choosing a different FFP. I know one should avoid ever using SkyChoice...but the fact that they have placed capacity controls on the equivalent of Sleazypass is just plain wrong. You never know when you might absolutely need to use your miles in a pinch. Perhaps crediting to FlyingBlue might be an option (Lifetime Plat after 10 years, Domestic upgrades on NW...for now, International F Awards, One-Way Awards). If FlyingBlue gets domestic upgrades on the combined DL/NW, that could be a real winner.

Glad someone could use it. It's almost worth trying to track down the FedEx Package I sent off today to get my passport back.

Anyhow, is it nuts to spend a weekend in Laredo, if only to add a new line to one's Flightmemory? The Embassy Suites there doesn't look too hideous. :D

Laredo? Id take a bottle of booze and maybe a few books to get you through the weekend. But, look at the bright side you might also be able to brush up on your spanish.

You guys down in IAH are lucky. The specials from EWR this weekend include ALB, CMH, GSO, GSP, BDA, MKE, YUL, ORF, YQB, RIC, ROC and SYR.

Out of all of those, I would consider BDA or YUL. The hotel and food in BDA is a bit too expensive for a weekend trip (although a beautiful island!). And, as I was thinking about checking out Quebec, I saw that fares to Canada have $60 worth of taxes added on. Is $190 for an hour on an ERJ to Canada worth it? I'm not so sure yet.
