You guys down in IAH are lucky. The specials from EWR this weekend include ALB, CMH, GSO, GSP, BDA, MKE, YUL, ORF, YQB, RIC, ROC and SYR.

Out of all of those, I would consider BDA or YUL. The hotel and food in BDA is a bit too expensive for a weekend trip (although a beautiful island!). And, as I was thinking about checking out Quebec, I saw that fares to Canada have $60 worth of taxes added on. Is $190 for an hour on an ERJ to Canada worth it? I'm not so sure yet.

Yea, but Montreal and Quebec aren't too bad, IMHO...

I'll take the sun anytime!

I'll always go for sun as well!

Are Montreal and Quebec worth the $190 for a Saturday AM to Monday early AM?

Yes. Montreal is an awesome city.

+1 to that, but I've told myself that I'm not going back until I can get a decent itinerary put together for the comedy festival.

While I contemplate a weekend in YUL, I have a random question to start some more chatter in The Box.

What is/are your drink(s) of choice in the PClub? Pre-flight? In-flight?

I usually go for a Jack and Coke (well, Jim in the PClub), Vodka Cranberry or a Vodka Tonic in the PClub/in-flight and I usually have water or OJ for my pre-flight drink.

Any drinks that are recommended in case I am feeling adventurous during my next flight? :D

Why post this link, because I can that's why.

Depends on time of day and purpose of trip.

Morning, business: none/none/none. I pick up a skinny vanilla latte from charbucks and a bottle of water, and sleep as much as possible during the flight.

Mid-Morning, fun trip: screwdriver in PClub, screwdriver or vodka-cran preflight, more of the same or red wine w/meal

Almost any other trip: rum and diet coke PClub, same for preflight, red wine in-flight.

A CO special could finally be a big winner with a ride to Montreal for a playoff hockey game which will likely show up there this Saturday. If you've never been to one of them, that would be worth untold hours in a Jungle Jet. But it won't be really cheap. The air fare is near $200 and the billet d'hockey (game ticket) should run well north of that.

However, the hotel room won't be too bad (at least it wasn't the last time we flew up for a playoff game (une partie d'eliminatoire). IIRC it was in the 150 (CAD) range right downtown at the Queen Elizabeth.

I usually don't drink when on business.

When I'm on vacation I drink vodka tonics in the P Club, cranberry juice during the flight, sometimes a glass of wine, and maybe a Jim and Coke or vodka tonic if I'm lucky enough to sit up front for pre-flight.

I'm trying to figure out if BZE would be a lot of fun for three days. I feel like I would need more time to explore.

Planning a honeymoon is hard work for a frequent flyer, just so everyone knows. I rattle my brain finding good resorts and realize that Continental doesn't fly to that island on that day...

BZE is awesome! However, I don't think 3 days is quite long enough to get away from Belize City and really explore a great country. Belize is primarily English speaking and things are very reasonably priced, so it is an easy place to visit.

If anyone is up for this, PM me. I can get any ticket to anything. I'm in mourning over the crappy play of my Devils, but I can still find tickets.

Edited to Add - %&@$#&@#$&@#$&!!!!!!!!! (I just sent my passport off today to get a Russian Visa)

That's gotta suck. I'm surprised you didn't wait to send it in until tomorrow.

Getting ready for the 'Stan DO already, huh?

Are 3 days enough to enjoy Lima? I want to visit Machu Picchu, but that's not enough time to enjoy it...I've already been to BZE, so I'm thinking abiut saving my efforts and not going on that one...

Don't worry. I've already agreed to take the assignment. I was more venting than anything.

Yep, I agree.

The good news is that this wouldn't start until next year, so I've got some time to see how the mergers shake out and what the possible merged FFP looks like before making a decision.

I'm just spoiled by CO. Great success with domestic upgrades, and generally good luck finding standard domestic F and international BF awards when I want them, to the places I want to go.
