Ahhhh, the pure nostalgia. I must have taken the AIY-PHL Allegheny Commuter (loved those Twin Otters flown by Southern Jersey Airways) dozens of times for the connection at PHL to the rest of the world. Then they closed AIY and moved the whole deal to ACY shortly before we left in the ealry 90s.

Another week of not so exciting co.com specials out of EWR. Can anyone sell me on one of the following destinations? I wanna go somewhere...

Baltimore, MD (BWI)
Columbus, OH (CMH)
Indianapolis, IN (IND)
Norfolk, VA (ORF)
Raleigh/Durham, NC (RDU)
Sarasota, FL (SRQ)
Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL (TPA)

If you haven't been, ORF could be interesting. Lot's of attractions within 2 hrs of the airport - Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown, NC Outerbanks, big navy yard, Norkfolk Tides.

And on to other things, I flew Shamu today. Yes I was being bad and flying WN... but I need this trip to get a free ticket on them, which I'll probably pawn off to a family member since I'll soon not be living near an airport that WN flies to.

I watched an episode during lunch today (on the website I mentioned earlier in this thread ;))

Seinfeld was a great a show. Fortunately, my TiVo still records 2 episodes a day. :)

I want the boxset...if I get Seinfeld, and polish off the Sopranos seasons that I'm missing, that should keep me welded to the couch for several months.

Hmmm - I'm not an Indy fan. Ohio never impressed me much either. I already have a few trips to FL planned in the next month. Sounds like I might be stuck on the ground this weekend. :(

Although... EWR-BWI would be both a new route and a chance to check out the Q400. Hmmm...

Broaden your horizons - you could become an Indy fan ;)

Flooding conditions down here in Philly as well. Thankfully, not traveling through PHL today.

Speaking of air travel, which airport is worse for delays? PHL or EWR? It seems every time a pigeon farts over PHL, there's a delay.

PHL hands down. I was scheduled out of there today and when the delays built to my missing the last flight in DTW I rerouted to ABE.

I hate PHL more than just about anything else.

I don't think I'd blend in too well with the typical Indy fan. :D Plus, car racing is just too repetitive for me.

Used to make the WQ run back in the day, Wings airways from Wings field to PHL. 12 minutes in Islanders/Trislanders. Great fun.

Damn what's the identifier for Wings? BBX I think...

If INdyCars or (gulp) NASCAR doesn't do it for you, give F1 a try. Easily the greatest form of paved motorsport out there today. Your dislike of repetition will get erased real quick while watching the GP of Monaco.

I'm waiting for the TUS-EWR special to come back. It happened a few weeks in a row, when either I couldn't go home or when I was somewhere else. Now that I actually have weekends wide open, no specials. Watch, as soon as I move, it will show back up.

I Applied for a Job w/ Continental...

Wish me luck. Unfortunately, if I get the job, I will take a pay cut. Fortunately, the cost of living in Houston is reasonable, so I could handle the pay cut. I already have a place to live (my gf's place) about a mile from CO HQs in Midtown. :) I could walk or bike to work - no $$$ spent on gasoline. The worst part would be not earning miles on CO anymore and no more EUAs. ;)

Thank you for your recent application to Continental Airlines.

We want to inform you that your application for the job vacancy titled XXXXX XXXXXXXXXX - HQ* has been received.

Continental Airlines hires the most qualified individuals available for each vacancy. If from the information you have provided it appears you may be among the most qualified candidates, then you will be contacted by a recruiter to discuss the next steps of the hiring process.

On behalf of Continental Airlines, we wish you every success in your career search.

Sincerely,

My guess is that loads are up a bit since B6 pulled out of the TUS-JFK market as of yesterday. Not sure that a special will be back anytime soon.

This weekend's specials from EWR do suck. The destinations aren't great and TPA/SRQ are $218+ which is crazy considering that LAX goes for $248+ when it is listed (ie last week).

I'm just waiting for good fares to BHM, JAX, PHX and GEG. Those are the top 4 on my wishlist solely for golf purposes.

Ugh, I am in San Jose CR, hungover, starving and the food place aint open yet. No more "Pangea Punch" for me.

It looks like my return SJO-EWR EUA will clear though.
