Thanks for posting here while I was reading - timing is everything.
I'm doing similar a week earlier, though stayin at DEN on Friday and Sunday.

I figured a mistake fare had a better shot of being noticed by the CO Forum in The Box than in the MR Deals Forum :D. Many thanks to MayorMcKnife, who originally posted the deal in MR Deals.

Yep, 18 miles from the Airport. I'm leaving out of DEN at 6:15am that Saturday, so being close to the airport at a property with a shuttle is probably best. I like the areas up in the mountains, but am not a big fan of Denver proper, anyhow. Need to work on my HHonors balance as well. Only a paltry 32,000 points. That gets you five hours in a Hampton Inn in Joplin Missouri, I think.

At first I was thinking the baby's parent(s) would mind me giving their child all that stuff and the more I thought about it, the more I realized that they'd probably thank me.

Can't drink on the way home. I have to be at .00 BAC at 6pm that night.

So, yet again, my CO Currency will go unused (I'm saving up to buy my own a/c. Inspired by Pepsi Points and the Harrier jet kerfuffle from many moons ago. If I get enough for a wide-body, I'll name it the rkkwan.)

OK, I know I said being family of industry and all that stuff, but I too am in the rkkwan boat...under 50K. This year's booked segments won't even get me there. I guess this is even more motivation to stop salivating over cameras, get my bills paid off, and go flying.

That case was taught in my Contract Law course. Hilarious.

I have been reading a lot about UA/Ted. I'm surprised to learn that all of 733/5s only have 8 FC seats, same as the non-Ted 319. Even the 320s have only 12 FC seats. [And VX's 319/320 also only has 8 FCs.]

Over here on the CO board, we used to hear all the complains about how few FC seats there are. But looking at UA, I now realize CO's not that bad in this regard, with 12 FCs on the 733/G and 16-20 FCs on the 738s.

It's part of how UA manages to get 120 seats on the 733 with E+, while CO has 124 seats with only E-. Take out a row of first class and spread out the rest of Y going back to the emergency exits and you've got E+ without losing very many seats. The difference is that E+ is automatic for UA elites, and upgrades to F require redemption of certificates or miles. CO of course has EUA and unlimited free upgrades for us elites.

As a UA Premier, I've had great luck redeeming E-500s for upgrades. I've only ever had one upgrade that I requested that did not clear, and many of those flights were on 737s with only 8 F seats. However, I've had to pay for those upgrades.

In my perfect airline world, CO would have EUA, the same size F cabins (or maybe slightly larger) as today, and E+. But we all know that ain't happening.

Anyone know a realistic timeframe for transiting JFK-EWR? I will be arriving (DL International) at JFK at 3pm. Would it be remotely possible to make an EWR-FLL flight that departs at 7:10pm, or is 3:45 (roughly time from arrival to boarding cutoff) cutting it too close?

ConciergeMike Jun 4, 2008 2:45 pm

How are you doing the transiting?

That's a good question. I've never done this transit before, and was considering JFK Airtrain ----> Subway ----> EWR Airtrain

And what day of the week?

On a weekday, via public transit you would actually probably be OK, though you'll use a fair amount of time making the trip. On weekends the trains are less frequent and that might be an issue.

Edited - if it's during the week - 90 min. should be sufficient if you're doing mass transit and don't get lost.

You're missing a link. JFK AirTrain to Jamaica Station (LIRR). LIRR into NY Penn. Penn to EWR. PANYNJ. gov and NJTransit.com can integrate it for you.

If you are using US helicopter then yes :D
