Ugh... DL is charging and arm and a leg for ATL-DCA these days. Looks like it's running about $375 before taxes per person on virtually all dates. NW is cheaper but still almost $300 per person.

The college football DO - is in DEN this year first weekend in OCT. (UT v. UC-boulder).

hmm this deal may be a good way to get there.

this sounds like a good deal...I better call CO just to make sure its valid ;):D

I am of course just KIDDING!

I have been reading a lot about UA/Ted. I'm surprised to learn that all of 733/5s only have 8 FC seats, same as the non-Ted 319. Even the 320s have only 12 FC seats. [And VX's 319/320 also only has 8 FCs.]

Over here on the CO board, we used to hear all the complains about how few FC seats there are. But looking at UA, I now realize CO's not that bad in this regard, with 12 FCs on the 733/G and 16-20 FCs on the 738s.

I've noticed that, DL normally opens up T (175 a/i) about 2 months in advance. Though no telling with the current financial crisis.

Just picked up two of them.

I think CO has me spoiled with my recent upgrade streak. While the F fare from DCA-DEN is a very nice deal, I'm not sure I can see dropping $500 on it. On top of that, I'd need a hotel in DCA and DEN and an Amtrak ticket to/from DCA. I might need to pass...

Although - I'm tempted to pick one up in case I change my mind. :D I'm still not sure where I will be in July though, so I'd have to do this in the next 2 weeks. Hmmm....

I got my engagement ring on a plane in F- unforunately it was UA

For a Plat, this works out to 11,462 RDMs, or 4.3cpm. Not too shabby for F.

Wow. SkyMall really does sell everything.

In other news, my corp. travel agency just booked me for the t/a trip I was talking about the other day. But my travel rules will only allow J on the overnight flight. Return is booked in H. Worth the 20k miles to upgrade? Right now I'm sitting in an exit row (middle seat though).

... all I care about is the space. Right.

rkkwan - how's 32B on the 777?

And regarding UA's domestic FC cabins. Yeah, they're small. But they do have ExPlus. And they do have E+.

I'm short, so I don't need the legroom. Which is why Row 32 never appeal to me. I often see people hanging out by that door, either waiting for bathroom, or just stretching their legs. You also have the possibilities of babies nearby.

Edit: I agree with baglady in the next post. Since you're already in H with no-copay, I'd spend the miles to upgrade.

A middle seat? Yes, I would burn the 20k if you have it to burn. But's that's me. That's when I'm glad my own corporate travel dept.

I have sat in 32 several times on IAH-LGW and like it (especially if you are on a 777 with nose--->tail AC power). Plenty of room to stretch out, and a Xanax/Ambien + Gin + Earplugs and N/C Headphones will take care of any potential nearby infant issues.
