Oslo, Su Tu-154, Moscow, Su 763, Hong Kong, TG 744 F, Bangkok, TG 744 C, more FCT, and More LH F to follow, hopefully this weekend. My retarded internet connection at home isn't that great for uploading 90 megs of photos at a pop.

Thanks for posting! I know I saw them the other night, but it's good to look at those again. Makes me dread my ATL-IAH flight in Y in a middle seat even more this evening. :( But at least we're both upgraded for the return on Sunday.

Best airline food I've ever had, across the board. Everything was delicious. I'm really looking forward to my next IAH-FRA flight on July 3 :D

Wow - lots of ticked off people at US Airways annual shareholders meeting. Listen to the first few minutes of this webcast.

Wow, I finally got a chance to listen to it and i'm laughing my a$$ off. I think my favorite line was "I'm not a very good stock investor as evidenced by me being at this meeting". :D

US is a real airline, with real investors. I have heard of meetings going like that but only in the movies. What more proof does anyone need that US is a sham of a company.

Sure beats the base model PT Cruiser we had at SEA last month. Of course, I didn't book the rental, and was joining the BF who was already there on a business trip. He had rented from Thrifty. After driving that POS all over Washington state for five days, even he was in agreement that one should never rent from Thrifty.

Tonight we both fly to IAH together, and the rental is booked on my last couple of free day coupon's from National's One-Two-Free promotion last fall. I'm hoping for an excellent Executive Aisle selection to help drive home my reasoning for using National, even if they charge a little more. He's a car guy, and works in the auto industry, so if there's good stuff on the Aisle, he'll be thrilled. Unfortunately I can't reserve anything larger than mid-size on these coupons, but they're good for anything on the Aisle. So probably no premium cars this time.

If you become Executive Elite (as opposed to regular Executive), you can redeem your free day coupons for any car class.

I am Executive Elite. But these aren't the regular free days. These are the ones from the One-Two-Free promotion, and those they do limit by car class, even for Executive Elites. For the regular free days, I frequently redeem those for specific car classes. I'd rather use these coupons for this weekend, though, because they expire in a few days. My regular free days are good much longer.

Ah, I see. Do they do a One-Two-Free promotion every fall? I did not do it last year because I was still renting from Hertz.

ssullivan Jun 13, 2008 1:06 pm

They have each of the last three years. They give you free day coupons which are separate from the free days you usually earn — one coupon for every three paid rentals. This is in addition to the normal rental credits you earn. So during last year's One-Two-Free I earned six free days on the promotion for 18 rentals, plus 3 more "normal" free days from the rental credits. The One-Two-Free coupons do limit you to reserving a mid-size or full-size (I forget exactly which it is), and you can only use three One-Two-Free coupons on a single rental. They also are usually only good from January 1-June 15/30 of the year following the promotion. But even with these restrictions, it's a quick way to stock up on free days to use in the late winter/spring/early summer, saving the normal free days for the rest of the year.
