EWR. Unless you are flying US out of PHL - then, who knows!

Seconded. I've had one good experience out of PHL pretty much ever, and it was on a CO RJ. My CLE flight out of D-6 pushed early, as did that morning's 738 IAH D-8 flight. My favorite line about US is in their Zagat airline survey comments: "schedule should be published under fiction". :D

I take that flight (PHL-IAH CO #1677 5:30AM) somewhat often. It pushes back a couple minutes early every day... it seems. Having been a US G and now a S, most of my trips used to be on US. I may have been on a plane that pushed back early... once, maybe twice out of PHL.

Another week of not so exciting co.com specials out of EWR. Can anyone sell me on one of the following destinations? I wanna go somewhere...

Baltimore, MD (BWI)
Columbus, OH (CMH)
Indianapolis, IN (IND)
Norfolk, VA (ORF)
Raleigh/Durham, NC (RDU)
Sarasota, FL (SRQ)
Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL (TPA)

Never for me. But then again, I've flown US out of PHL maybe 5 times. Been delayed enough to unexpectedly have dinner in the terminal on at least 2 of those 5. I grew up using CO and EWR. I'll say this though: for the convenience of the early AM IAH flight (which I've heard tends to load pretty light too) and for the fun of more dots on the FlightMemory, my next West Coast trip is going to be PHL-IAH-XXX.

They might not be hot destinations, but at those fares some of the short ones might be appealing to a segment requalifier. SRQ and TPA are always easy sells for golfers.

Indy has some pre 500 events
http://indy500.com/schedule/

You could go to the Columbus zoo for some excitement and fun

It's a pleasant time in St. Pete and Sarasota

Um, that's all I can come up with

Hmmm - I'm not an Indy fan. Ohio never impressed me much either. I already have a few trips to FL planned in the next month. Sounds like I might be stuck on the ground this weekend. :(

Although... EWR-BWI would be both a new route and a chance to check out the Q400. Hmmm...

What is that, about a 10 minute flight? Takeoff to touchdown in less time than it takes to make Rice-a-Roni :D

It would be a 10 minute flight only if EWR was not in the picture. Since it is, you circle for about 25-30 minutes in between before finally landing at BWI.

The Q400 trip is blocked for 54 minutes, and the trip is 116 miles. A 54-minute block is probably about 20 minutes of wheels-up time assuming no delays.

I was fixin to post that Tampa had the highest number of strip clubs per capita, but according to google, that distinction belongs to Portland, OR.

So (no pun intended) screw that. I got nuttin'.

It's actually 169 miles as Baltimore is BWI and not BDL. I have no idea why I had BDL stuck in my head. My fault.

Anyway, FlightAware shows these flights in the 40+ min range.

Even the DL CRJs make CVG-SDF in 22 minutes air time. This is my shortest regular route, is listed as being 83 miles, and the schedule calls for 47-50 minutes.

Granted some people may feel strange following this link, but HERE. A recent discussion of US dropping its shortest flight systemwide, which turned into an interesting discussion of short airline hops.
