If one of you want to get rid of your Viper (whatever year or model) for free/little, I am willing to tolerate it. :D

The new GM vehicles seem to have very good seats - much better than they used to be. As far as non-luxury brands, Volvos have the most comfortable seats, IMO. Saabs are good, as well.

As far as luxury brands go, I'd certainly be willing to give the Maybach seats a try. They look kinda comfy.

LOL - that must be at least 60" pitch. Someone in my neigborhood has one of those (with diplomatic plates, of course).

It's a sad day when a car has nicer seats than UA old biz :D

We had a base model PT Cruiser a few weeks ago in Seattle for the weekend. The BF was up there the week before at a conference, and had rented from Thrifty because it was cheapest (yes, I know I have to teach him not to do that). He kept the car for the weekend, and I flew over from MSP to meet him. I would have rather sat on the floor than in the seats in that car. I can't understand why anyone would make a seat that uncomfortable. The worst of CO's Y seats were better than these seats. I don't get why the domestic car manufacturers, especially Chrysler, act surprised that they are doing so poorly when they keep turning out crap like this car. It doesn't take much common sense to realize that if the car is uncomfortable to ride in, has a cheap, ugly interior, an underpowered engine, and the competitors are selling a better product for the same price, or even less, your car isn't going to sell. So why are you wasting your time turning out such a crappy product?

SO true. Many American made cars are just terrible.

In my experience, the PT Cruiser is one of the worst. I've also heard it referred to as the "BT Bruiser". :D

Or the "PT Loser." It is no wonder why I've stuck to my Japanese cars for years. Last car I rented in the USA at SFO was a Pontiac G6 GT. Not bad. But, when you touched the knobs on the radio, you felt the cheapness of the plastics. It didn't make a good impression on us. When my Subaru costs less than a G6, and feels like it costs a whole lot more. I rented a Mazda 6 at TLV a couple weeks ago. It felt solidly made. Why do most car rental agencies in the US have crap to rent out?

Thanks for the suggestion!

We are more interested in renting right now just because I do not know how long we are going to stay in the Houston area.

Hertz was owned by Ford for a while...

I feel the same way about the G6. Not a bad car to drive or ride in. But it just feels like it'll fall apart in a few years.

Interestingly, I believe it's built on the same chassis as the Mazda 6 (might even be on the same production line?).

At least the GM rentals are usually pretty tolerable. I actually like some of the newer Saturns and the new Malibu, which I have again this week. I'm not saying I want to buy any of them — I'm quite happy with my 2005 Honda Accord EX V6 that has hardly any miles on it, and plan on keeping it for a while. But there are some GMs and Fords I might consider. Can't say the same about any of the Chrylser products I've driven in the last few years.

I like scoring Accords, Volvos, and Toyota Forerunners (don't know why I like that one). I was "upgraded" to a H3 once, I took it since they were backed up and I needed to get to a meeting. Just about killed myself on I-70 in Denver because of all of the blind spots. Turned it in that night for a Pontiac.

G6 = Pontiac = GM
Mazda 6 = Ford/Lincoln/Mercury/Volvo product

10th Anniversary...

...of the last Seinfeld episode. I still like watching reruns. To this day, I still have not seen the last episode in its entirety. I was working the night it aired.:(
