Yup. Within 5 minutes of posting on here and another forum I had an offer for all 8 tickets + parking and another for a block of 4. Sold the block of 8 to get them all off my back and then referred the person seeking 4 to someone else who I knew was trying to dump tickets. They bought them and the guy I referred them to is going to hook me up.

Morning, Box.

That sucks, sorry to hear it. I'm told from the folks around my office that like to go to LAS that it is hurting big time right now, so I wouldn't think that it would be the safest move. Have you considered west coast cities? SAN/SFO/SEA? I'm thinking that they all have sufficient business travel cultures to support a full time concierge position. The downside is the cost of living.

I've looked all over for almost anything in hotel management. I'm not above flushing my experience down the terlet and starting totally over, if such a chance can be executed upon. And despite the beauty of the West Coast and the large centers of business travel, I can only visit there. The outlook on things out your way is a wee bit strange for my taste. I'd permanently feel like I'm not in Kansas anymore. Cost of living is worse than here, and that's saying something. I think the only way I could take a job in CA is to be like fozz and almost never be there. Love to visit, couldn't live.

When you call back, ask if they received any more TPAC seats on KE. ;)

In the interest of full disclosure, I must note that the agent actually called me back and finished the transaction. It was domestic so she probably didn't have access to KE availability, but I was so thrilled that she called back that I forgot to ask.

At least I don't have to go to the DO via LAS now. I found a DL redeye from SAN to IAH and ponied up the extra 25,000 miles for an easypass return on CO metal that still allows me to attend the brunch. I was able to cancel my WN positioning flight and use those funds for my wife's flight to PHX in April. All in all, a good travel day from a strategic point of view.

That's too confusing for me without coffee.

I hear you. It is quite expensive to live here, but that is actually getting much better than it has been in the last four years. I'm seeing costs of just about everything dropping right now. But who knows how long that will stay around. I suppose that in the end, it comes down to what is most important to you. It took me about a year and a half before this place started feeling like home. I was just an extended stay tourist before that. In any event, I continue to wish you luck on the job hunt.

Yeah, yeah. I will update FM with the new stuff (and get rid of the old stuff) presently.

I was just teasing anyway. ;) Glad the agent called you back and that you were able to get better DO flights!

Lima!

I'd go to Lima, and tell the customer that you can come the next week! :)

The whole industry is no bueno, I'm sorry to say. I read a report somewhere (maybe WSJ) the other day talking about the glut of high-end hotel rooms now filling the market and all these crazy promotions and spiffs hoteliers are offering.

Have you considered working for a tradeshow/exhibition company? Similar industry, to a point, and perhaps a bit more stable. Something like www.freemanco.com might be worthwhile for you to look into. Their office in NJ is looking for an AE (sales).

I wish. But I just cannot justify giving up thousands of dollars in income for the sake of a $400 fare to LIM where I'm going to spend the whole time in Lima anyways. The value just isn't there. As mentioned up-thread a bit there is a L fare to GUA that has a pretty decent amount of availability for $265 a/i from NYC. I'll find time to fit that in my schedule for a long weekend, I think. Not nearly as many miles, and no EUA on the 752, but it should still be a good opportunity. Plus, this way my wife won't be bitter that I went to Peru without her. ;)

I think this is a new record for me. 39 Days since my first exam, without a grade from that class. I hope it's worth the wait.

Breaking news! The purser on board will be none other than Randy Petersen himself :)

I'm guessing your hangover probably puts mine to shame. :D

It was pretty bad , thats why we did not book the 9 am flight.
The problem is that now the 130 pm flight is delayed.
The other problem is that we are NONREV so there is a chance we do not make the flight.

ETA: What is the Penalty Box FM pw ?
Im trying to add yesterday's B6 flight

David Hasselhoff, his daughters and his posse were in First on yesterday's DXB-IAH flight. He had missed the direct DXB-LAX and they put him connecting through IAH.
