I'm just very thankful that it now appears I won't be forced to start flying DL come July.

I was originally scheduled to fly to ATL today at 4:00. Wanting to get home a little earlier, and being on a Y fare, I switched this morning to the 2:45 PM departure. Now the 2:45 PM flight is delayed to almost 4:00, and I'm now scheduled to land in ATL about 12 minutes ahead of the 4:00 PM IAH-ATL flight.

Looks like something happened between GDL and MFE to mess your plane up a bit today.

I'm a bit conflicted on a reservation I have coming up. I am going to Scandinavia with Mrs. sbm12 in June/July. I have reward flights booked. I initially had to book the outbound via CDG due to a lack of availability on the non-stop. That was going to get me the opportunity to fly on an A318 for the first time CDG-CPH. I looked today and the non-stop is available. Am I being stupid for not changing it immediately?? There is also the issue of departure times, as the CDG flight leaves ~4 hours after the CPH one, making it at a normal sleep time and letting my wife work a full day on that Monday. Too many decisions...

UPS gets on my nerves sometimes, and I used to be a fan...

We have a gate that is used to access our little condominium complex and UPS will not wait for someone to come to the gate to give them access or come back at a later time in the afternoon (when people are actually home). So, the package I need will not be delivered until Monday between 10:30am and 2pm, again, when no one is here.

I tried calling UPS to see if they could deliver the package again today but they don't have a direct customer support line...

If I want the package today I have to sit in rush hour traffic to go get it. ugh...

Don't you hate e-mails like this.

"Is Xxxx's request viable? Please let us know."

My response was.
"What exactly is the request?"

I have to admit that they have redeemed themselves... This time.

A different driver took over the shift and saw that had I requested to pick up the package and took that to mean that I had seen the notice left at the gate. She drove all the way back over here and delivered it. ^

One of the other drivers has been known to throw packages through a small opening between the gate and the ceiling. We had a wedding gift delivered via UPS and just happened to have this guy delivering it. The gift did not survive the throw and I let UPS know it. Have not seen that driver since.

Fly the A318. More is more.

I'd take the non-stop. It's not like it's a 707 or DC-8... :p

You both make very compelling arguments. :D

I think that the departure time is really going to be the driving factor. If my wife can get out early then I'll probably switch to the non-stop. If not I'll keep the connection and not really be too bothered by it.

But it's available here in the US too! Frontier have a bunch of them (as long as it's still flying).

Now, if you're talking about the 736, that may be a little more rare and interesting...
