For some reason I can't get the US Airways website to sell me a one way ticket from LGA to the Hudson River.

It costs them too much in free booze on the next flight!

CNN said people got into CLT VERY VERY happy and boozed up.

Thanks to belynch and PSU Mudder for the clarification.

Now I need the next three weeks to go by quickly. It's been over a month since I've been on a plane.

Three phone calls and 45 minutes spent on the line today trying to get a refund for a BF upgrade that did not clear, and I am still on hold. :td:

One of the passenger's works with my wife. He is still a bit shaken up, but had enough presence to give a great interview:

True, its always nice to see how people ended up.

Come to think of it ssullivan, I added you as a friend a couple months ago but I guess you decided we could only be FT friends and not FB friends.

Ack! I didn't realize that was you! Sorry about that!

Howdy Box! Long time no post. I fell off the wagon last year but I'm back with a renewed determination to spend as many workday hours on FT as I can get away with. ;) I've been lurking periodically but have lots of catching up to do. Knew to come straight to FT for info yesterday when people started telling me "a USAIR Regional Jet A380 crashed in the Hudson"

Speaking of, since all are safe and sound we can laugh about it a bit.

Welcome Back!

Of course Canadia taunts me just a week and a half after I left. The weather in Quebec City is looking rather entertaining from here.

Good to hear from you! Come back often - we've missed you!

Circuit City? Well, my Canon 40D was bought there (as a lens package, with a 10% off coupon I got on ebay, and then I sold the lens), my current Samsung 40" LCD was bought there, my parents' 42" Toshiba was bought there.

The problem they have is that I only bought all those things there because of the price. They probably lost money on all those purchases.

They then tried hard to get me to buy the extended warranty. That's the only chance of making any money. People like me know never to get the extended warranty, and with more people knowing their financial trouble, even fewer of them will fall for that scam.

I read a report that indicated BB and CC made the bulk of their profits from extended warranty purchases. Given the marketplace and internet competitors, this makes great sense.

The only time I have even considered such a warranty is on small handheld items that are easy to lose or break. Given the costs of most items these days, even that is not really worth it given the % they ask for up front.
