Wawa's Kona blend was my savior this morning. I usually work 1030a-830p, but had to do 7a-5p today. My body could not naturally handle the now-normal bedtime of about 1230a and still do this shift without a ginormous dose of caffeine. 48oz just about shook the cobwebs loose.

Keith Richards will, IMO, live forever because he did so much druggage that I think the drugs ended up putting him in some kind of animated yet preserved state. I'm thinking that my coffee intake might do the same for me.

I believe Keith has speculated that his longevity under duress owes more to the fact that, rich as he is, he can always afford quality stuff.

Quality stuff indeed, and many years of it.

Big boss confirmed that I will need to make two trips to JNB. I should be fired up but I'm dreading it a little. DL looks like the way to go since it's on the 764 but it is filling up fast.

Actually, there are decent number of 757s here... to IAH, LAX, LGW, CDG, EWR. Sadly, to ORD, all we get is a nasty CHQ ERJ.

Oh well... I wish that coffee would brew faster this morning.

Don't forget LAS. Year round, CO operates 757's to IAH, LAS, and EWR (excluding international flights); searching the timetable, it appears that the 753 to LAX was seasonal (it reverts to 738's and 739's later in the year).

If you get some extra time there (or can take a few days), I highly recommend Phinda Private Game Reserve (http://www.ccafrica.com/reserve-1-id-2-1). It was an amazing experience, and definitely a 5-star type place. I have to say it was the best experience of our lives.

It was about an hour flight in a cesna from JNB - which they set up for us. And being from the US - they may put together a nice package for you.

Let me know if you want any more details. It was truly worth the cost. We hope to go back for our 10 yr anniversary.

John

My friend just went to JNB for a two-day business trip and was able to take one extra day to travel to two game parks that were within a 1-1.5 hour drive of JNB. I can find out where those were, if you'd like.

Yeah... :td:

There's a reason I am looking for another job. I am willing to travel and I do not mind sitting in coach for mid-cons (or even transcons), but crossing the ocean and being on a plane for ~24 hours in coach is unacceptable, especially when expected to be at work as soon as you get your luggage.

I would love to do this but I doubt I will have time. If I get my schedule and see a lull in it, I will definitely send you a PM for more information! ^

My sympathies - especially being that it is DL Y. :(

Tell them that you won't go unless it is in Business. Or, just book VS or BA Premium Economy.
