I came to work today and was scheduled off -...on the plus side, I'll be going home briefly and I'll get to work on the proposal and be home to receive my new airplanes in Airline Mogul - I have 4xB727 and 2xSE210 that are replacing some smaller jets.

What is the change policy for an easy pass reward after travel has started ?
Can you change to an earlier flight over the phone , or at the airport ?

CO Insider addressed something related to this here.

Thanks for the link, the situation I had was different , It did not require
any redeposit , it was just a flight change to an earlier flight on the same day , both were CO metal.
It was not even for my , It was a for a friend who had redeemed a reward.
He was able to log into his OP account and just click on change flights , the reward was the same , and he just had to pay $50 fee after re issuing .

My dad was on CO2365 YYZ-IAH (6:05am) a few days ago and gave me a run down of his experience.

They pushed back on time and then just sat there. The pilot comes over the intercom and informs the passengers that due to a noise regulation they would be sitting for 15-20 minutes.

Why not just schedule the flight for 6:20am then?!

I've heard this before about YYZ. The only thing I can think of is that it allows CO a cushion of time to get the flight to IAH on time even if there's a delay in departure from the gate. It also helps get them close to the front of the line for takeoff, although I don't know how many flights there are leaving YYZ at that hour.

But yes, something like that is particularly frustrating at that early hour. I know if I was in that situation I would have been thinking "I could have used those extra 20 minutes of sleep."

I believe I've heard similar stories about arrivals into LGA where the pilots have to slow down coming in from DEN to not arrive too early and violate the noise restrictions.

My FlightMemory has now been reformed to conform to the Standards promulgated by the First Synod of Redneckistan, as contained in the canons of ssullivan. All heretical references to COEX flights as "Continental Airlines" have been removed, and replaced by their proper regional-operator identifiers. I hereby renounce my past heresy, and look forward to my enlightenment in the purest forms of Aerogeek Orthodoxy.

Wow, I feel so honored (I guess?) to have such a title.

Now don't you feel better about making that change? It just elevated your airline count!

Noise restricitons in NYC are a joke. There are signs all over 2nd ave for no honking and no engine breaks but I hear it all night. Geezzz I think Id rather live next to an airport.

Yeah...but it is pretty obvious when a TED (RAR!) A320 lands on the runway versus a bunch of cars on the road. ;)

There was no one sitting next to me in 12C, so that definitely helped in that case, and I agree that the low window was annoying and uncomfortable to try to look out of. The flight home we had 2A/B and they didn't seem all that bad. It was a crappy Y seat for certain, but just not as terrible as every makes it out to be, IMO. Just not that much worse than an ERJ to me.

Having an empty seat next to you really does help. And I'll admit the CRJ wouldn't be as miserable if I was shorter. But I can't sit normally in the window seats on that plane without the side of the plane hitting my shoulder, which is part of why I complain about the plane so much. I guess I'm just too tall for the CRJ. Fortunately the ERJs aren't as bad, and it's quite rare I don't sit in the exit row on the ERJ.

I will say that I've been pretty comfortable on COEX CRJ flights on the ex-Independence Air planes with the better seats, sitting in the exit row aisle seat with the window seat unoccupied. I still can't see out without contorting my body into an unnatural position, but that extra inch of pitch, plus the open seat, does make it a reasonably comfortable ride for flights of less than 90 minutes.

My day off that I went to work for managed to get ruined by having to go to one of my mother's clients' funerals. She was a good client of mine for premium tickets too. And so it goes.

Burning the Miles

Just came back from visiting FLL. It was dry for a couple days, but the humidity was just as disgusting as ever. I want to thank those who gave me advice about burning US miles. To see overhead bins that are overflowing in Y and FAs having to announce that beverages are $2 (alcoholic bevs are $7) just reinforces my decision to bolt away from US. The artwork on the back of the F seats still exists.

I hadn't been on US for a while. A couple of nice things I have seen. At PHL in terminal B and C, US has put up information display screens for pilots and ground personnel (outdoors at every gate), just like I've seen at IAH. I've heard this helps get planes out on time.

I had not seen the new US uniforms for FAs, until now. Very nice! Added style.

I'll be glad to finish off my miles on US. I may donate them to my father or brother to come and visit me after I move to Houston (FLL - connecting through CLT, not PHL - IAH). 98K miles left to burn.
