Agreed - it wasn't enough. I felt like last week's episode left us hanging and then this week Dwight, Angela and Andy acted like nothing major was wrong (although, their interactions were limited). Just an odd flow.

I read the book by Eric Haney and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I also read the reports of people he served with saying he effectively made stuff up so it seemed more colorful and maybe he did. I guess it just isn't that big of a deal to me since I didn't view the book as a manual or instruction for anything. It might as well have been complete fiction.

I also believe that he wasn't a founding CSM when he said he was, but I could have that all wrong.

I have not watched one frame of either version of The Office. From what I can tell, the business interactions in the show would probably remind me too much of the stupidity of the casinos...then I would start scratching and twitching.

Easy to say, while hard to do I know, but what if all of the teachers simply walked off the job one day? You want to unilaterally re-negotiate my contract in the middle of the term? Good luck with that...

And people wonder why it is hard to find good teachers that will stay in their jobs for longer than a few years....

Yeah, I hear you. From what I understand, they were going to close the schools for five days, spaced out through the rest of the year. But the people that affected was hourly, classified employees, and not certificated salaried teachers. They are trying to save more by saying that everyone has to take the hit. Meh, it's all a pile of crap. Times like these make me think maybe it would be ok to leave SAN.

But I cannot leave SAN today, for I must go to the ATL airport and fly back to it. Have a good 'un.

In NY that's illegal. Something about denying children their right to education or something. Can't say I disagree with that.

(Let's not talk about unions today. I would almost certainly say something that would get me permanently exiled to Pandy land.)

I too enjoyed it. I don't remember hearing anything about him faking the title. But here's what I don't get: even the sanitized version of the founding of Delta should make for some great reading if put in the right person's hands. If any story in the genre doesn't need to be massaged, it's probably that one.

On a more current note, it bothered me tremendously to read that people are starting to poke holes in some of the happenings in Marcus Luttrell's book.

Residual discussion of Delta on the brain, I see.

I love these books and have read them all. I like to think there is a Mitch out there protecting us.

Great books, if you haven't read them. You really can't put them down.

I'm like that with unions just about every day, but to be fair my only large experience with such was in ACY, where I witnessed both of the following:

- A bellman not opening a door for a hotel guest, only to say "It's not in my job description" as a defense.

- A senior bellman chewing out a younger one for working too hard...older guy complains at younger guy because the speed of younger guy results in less time between runs for older guy.

One of the books caused a sleepless night a few weeks ago. I had to finish it and it was nearly 5am when I did.

Today is particularly bad. The non-profit I sit on the board of is about to build a new building as we had operationally outgrown the existing one.

We were set for demolition next week and the local carpenters union has effectively bullied the town into placing an injunction on the project. We're challenging it (we drew the line last night and said we wouldn't be bullied so our town supv can get votes). When it's all said and done it will place a tremendous tax burden on the tax payers, no matter the outcome.

TGIF!

I am mulling over staying in SXM or continuing over to SBH and found this in my "research":

Gotta love an airline putting that on their home page!
