I didn't think you could redeem for LAS-LGW since they don't codeshare on that route.

Codeshare is NOT a requirement for VS redemption, regardless of what agents may tell you.

It does make it a bit harder for them to see and confirm availability, as they have to pull from different inventory, but they are eligible, assuming space is available.

The VS website says "Las Vegas: First Class Lounge, adjacent to Gate 3," whatever that is.

It is the other terminal so it could be anything .

What lounge do they use in LAS , The PC club ? The Foundation Room @ Mandalay Bay :D ?

I'm not sure if they use the PClub as their official lounge, but there is a VS logo on the sign next to the entrance.

You can kind of see the little red blob in this picture. :)

Did you go to the new NW WC located upstairs in NRT? I find that lounge to be (arguably) the best lounge in the entire Skyteam system - large, modern, plenty of seating, great views of one of the runways, a great selection of hot food, and a number of iMac's with chairs facing the windows so that you can watch the runways as you use the workstations. In fact, I would say that it is one of the best business class lounges I have personally experienced. I would hardly say that there was "no utility" in it.

Yes, that's the one I went to. The dragon wanted to send me down to the smaller one closer to the CO gates , but I knew from FT to check that one out. It was very nice, don't get me wrong, but with respect to 'utility' I meant as an originating passenger. If I was connecting I would have loved it instead of waiting among the gates (and being able to take a shower for sure), but going to the airport and then hanging out there before my flight left, I didn't get much out of it. *shrugs*

I did like watching the planes take off and land, that was very nice, but my wife, well, lets say her dad never took her to LGA when she was a kid to watch them land to know what she was missing.

TG F Lounge at HKG has excellent Dim Sum.

I went there....but the food was only available at the business section. F was just a roped off section. Was it different when you went?

24 hours after I get an accepted offer on the house there's a "credible" rumor that I'm up for an expat assignment in Australia (Sydney).

In the F section, they bring you a menu, and it's table service.

I vaguely remember seeing additional food options in the F section, but I was in the J section so I didn't pay it much attention.

JFK-LHR 14A and 15A
LHR-EWR 2A and 3A

So, in random news, I got an email from NW saying that the 50% on Y,B,M fares was staying and that as a NW Plat, I'm going to get six SWUs good on DL/NW.

I'm wondering if i'm going to get them since I was a status match.... it would be cool. Now I just have to figure out the rules for upgrading with a SWU on DL/NW.

If your JFK-LHR is a red-eye, expect very little sleep being next to the bar if you think you'll want to get some.
