Yea, just dont tell them you are there for 24 hours.

They can pull up your flight info in their system. It's better just to tell them you are on a mileage run and put up with the secondary screening. You really don't want the screening that will come your way if you lie to them.

That form of screening doesn't enter via your eyes and mouth, eh.

Gotta love blatant isolationism, boys and girls.

I think I saw it in LAS. Remember how the SS asked the local police about take out and how they order from a local pizza place. There was a full page article the next day in the paper.

THe closest I have been to a Pres or VP was in 2000 when Gore was in LAS for a stop at UNLV the day before the election. I recall being upset as I couldnt get where I wanted to go because the VP was in the area. His vehicle passed in front of me. So I guess I had my own personal motorcade parade! :)

On my recent trips to Canadia, I have managed to have a bit of fun with them. The screeners at Saskatoon were absolutely flabbergasted that anyone would actually choose to travel there for a vacation (and for good reason). The look on the lady's face when I told her I selected a new study holiday locale each year, and that Saskatoon was selected over Honolulu this year was priceless... absolutely priceless.

24 hours after I get an accepted offer on the house there's a "credible" rumor that I'm up for an expat assignment in Australia (Sydney).

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Oh, that's too bad. :( Can I have the assignment instead? :D

I had no problems with Canadian screening when I told them I was on a mileage run.

Now American pre-clearance on the way back is a totally different story.

"Are you here looking for work?"
"No."
"Do you know anyone in Calgary?"
"No."
"You're sure you don't know anyone in Calgary?"
"I have better taste than that."

At least MSP is due to "warm" into the high-20s while we are there. :(

At least you'll be near civilization. I'm on a south-eastern romp through MLU (via JAN), CLT, and RDU next week...
