Ouch! Be glad you're not flying then. Flying would only make that headache worse.

Hope you feel better soon.

Shipping & Handling (UPS Ground): $8.55
For a gift card!? Are they kidding?!

I have no other choice, but that is just ridiculous.

Having a good idea what next year's projects will be, I should qualify for Plat easily. And if they hurry up with the switch to Star it'll be even easier. Of course, a lot can change between now and then.

I had "pilferage" from bags flying out of CUN. The whole experienced sucked. A lot.

I have more flights scheduled on *A for next year so that should be no problem for *A Gold , its CO im worried about

Just examined my planned pre-nuptials travel. If I include the crazy trip I have been considering, that works out to 60,000 EQM. If not, only 45,000. Looks like I'll have to book the crazy trip. :D

Tell us more about this crazy trip... :)

End of summer travel season for leisure flyers, beginning of serious belt-tightening by corporations, and airfares have now been high for several months. My guess is it's starting to take a cumulative toll. I wonder when the airlines will take a page from retail and start slashing fares significantly, considering we haven't seen oil this low in years. You can only cut capacity so much before your network is useless to business travelers, or you open yourself up to serious competition.

There was a big drop in September right after the summer ended, but then it seemed to pick back up in October as the capacity cuts settled in and matched the demand.

I think recently companies have cut travel significantly since early November and that's what we're seeing now.

My wife and a number of our friends are in the midst of travel restrictions or outright bans. Plus, remember that a lot of discretionary travel is booked a couple months in advance and that was in the middle of the crazy fuel pricing and fare unbundling period for the industry, which really made leisure travelers think twice about flying.

There's a somewhat entertaining thread in the JetBlue forum about a bag that disappeared on their CUN-JFK flight. Good read.

As for requalifying, this year I barely scraped silver out of my personal travel, despite putting my arse in a seat over 90K miles. Lots of BD credit, however. And just about all of my long-haul travel has been in Y. I did HKG, HNL 1.5x and AMS/IST/BRS all in Y. I generally just can't justify the additional expense, either cash or miles, to upgrade. I fit OK in Y seats and would rather take more trips in the back than fewer up front.

Good almost afternoon, Box. I've been awake for about 18 minutes now, thanks to being kept up til 4am by my OCD desire to finish a really good book. For those of you who dig the political intrigue/spy fiction stuff, look no further than Vince Flynn. I've been thru four of his trade paperbacks in the last two weeks, and two of those have been in the last 72 hours. The new mission today with no choice but to accept it is to find a supply of reading material to get me thru to Christmas Day.

This year was a lot easier for me as I reached an understanding with my swiss boss that it makes sense for me to fly on flexible tickets after he got screwed by SWISS after missing a flight and had to buy another ticket to get home. So, I have been able to grab H fares on CO or Y fares on NW (extra connection but less miles to upgrade at about the same price).

Yep. I would imagine that most of the last-run of cheap tickets have already been flown.

My travel hasn't really reduced, but work is slowing some. Fortunately my schedule for next spring still looks pretty full. However, my big project I was supposed to start in the summer is on hold.

Hot towels. More hot towels. And then some more. That's the only thing I know that really helps. The weather is awful for sinuses!
