If that were the case then J.Edward would be six feet under rather than studying for his CPA. Earning Plat by the end of January takes some fortitude, that is for sure!

Mmmmm. Cold dirty rice. Breakfast of champions.

I wonder what sort of cumulative radiation dosage he received from being at 35,000 feet for a week solid.

Good point! I guess I'd be safe. :)

No, although too much airline food, combined with the junk available in most airports, might kill you. Or at least make you feel bad. I once went a solid 36 hours with nothing but food provided by CO and NW, all in F/J. I had flown DTW-IAH-MSP-IAH-LGW. I wouldn't recommend it.

I wonder what a red-eye Transcon is like on a 753. Probably best to find an entire row in Y to sack-out on, even if in F, right?

Between all my carriers, I'm going to end up over 300,000 miles - I cannot imagine another 200,000 on top of that!

Edited to add, yep that's BIS.

The food is rough.

I survived about 48 hours behind security a few years ago when I did PHL-IAH-OAK-IAH-PHL-IAH-SMF-IAH-PHL (fortunately all in F). I was nauseous and exhausted by the time I got back to PHL. I had to take a nap before I was able to drive home. I qualified for Plat and it was all worth it! ^

Good Grief! I've done 186,000 BIS this year, and that's having flown almost every weekend of the year.

I've done a few 753 transcons in both the front and the back. It's not too bad as the seats in F and Y have the sliding seat pan. IMO, an entire row in Y is always better than a domestic F seat.

Wow - that's impressive. 500,000 is just unreal!

I'll end the year around 125,000-130,000 BIS miles. Not as much as some of you who travel across oceans all the time, but that's a lot when you consider how many 500-750 mile flights I take. I'll end up with just under 200 individual flight segments by the time December 31, 2008 arrives.

Really? I'd still rather have domestic F. I might agree if I had an entire exit row, but even in 32" pitch on the 753 I'd rather have a single F seat for the knee room and more comfortable seat cushions.

I have always said that short trips are much harder than many TATL or TPAC trips. I will take a TATL in coach over a day trip someplace domestically where you get up in the middle of the night and do not return until mid-evening.

I am looking at 100,000 EQMs this year and about 125,000 BIS miles. The thought of 500,000 miles almost makes me cringe.

Laying down across an entire row would allow for much better sleep when compared to sitting up in a domestic F seat. If it's not a red eye or if there is not a full row available in the back, I would select the seat up front hands down.
