Agreed.

I don't believe in upgrading the OS on a computer in place. Too much risk and zero upside. If you really want a new OS buy new hardware for it. No need to bring all the problems from the old system along to the upgrade.

Or do a fresh install. If someone already has modern (or semi-modern) hardware, there is no need to replace it just to upgrade the OS.

In any case, Vista (IMO) is pretty terrible in terms of stability and usability.

I only flew it once, on RDU-MEM in August 2005.

I flew the RJ85 many times between CLE and DTW and MSP, as well as on other routes. It was one of the best aircraft around. There was no divider between F and coach, either, and the first row of coach (Row 5) had more legroom than even the F seats. Coach was 2x3 seating, though.

You don't know for sure? Good God, man, did you get a Tail-Number? The horror! :D

I was thinking the same thing.

I loved flying the NW ARJs back in the day and still love taking them to LCY, even in all Y configuration. Beyond the cool factor, it is nice not having the wing block your view downwards.

Indeed. I know a lot of folks really dislike WN, but I've never had an issue with them provided that I get a bulkhead seat. That said, I am consistently checking reward inventory from SAN and SNA to IAH to see if anything opens up so I can reschedule and not have to overnight in LAS.

And though it doesn't matter, it's actually a CO reward that has DL legs on the return flight, IAH - SLC - LAS, then LAS - SAN on WN. Truthfully, though I am in ATL right now (again) having flown DL to get here, I'd rather do a non-stop CO flight back to SAN. We'll see what happens.

Probably the toughest Tail Numbers for me to get, if I can ever get them, will be my Domestic flights in Mexico from the 80s, as well as my Domestic Honduran flights in 1999. I imagine Europe probably has some Bureaucracy that would cover my European flights from 2002-Present.

I need to do tail number research, as well.

I have a bunch of flights since birth that I need to research, but will start with the charter 747 that took me from JFK - ZRH in 1984 when I was a foreign exchange student. Some other fun routes were CLE-JFK-LHR-HAM-BERLIN-ZRH on PanAm in 1990 at the start of my 5 month pub crawl after college or the TWA trip I took with a friend in the mid-90s STL-JFK-GVA-MUC.

I will need to grab some coffee with my dad and see if he remembers some of my early routes when he was working at Boeing in the late 60s and early 70s and mom was working in the front office of an airline at SeaTac.

I must admit that taking WN last weekend was a much better experience than I anticipated. I was in the first group to board, so I grabbed exit row window seats and sipped my free heineken. Would I take them to the Left Coast? Hell no, unless it was one heck of a deal. But jumping to CHI or WAS? Certainly.

Random question time.

Do any ST carriers offer PJs in business?

Oh this is funny! Try using CO.com to book PAR-FDF and see the results. Good that it is a bookable destinate, but nice routing.

Usability, yes. Stability, no. At least in my experience. And, actually, the uability isn't bad, per se, but it is different without adding any value, so not really good either.

Continental.com could not find any available seats meeting your requirements. You may modify your search criteria, or call 1-800-300-1547 for assistance.
:(

Last time I flew WN, I got the Business Select fare and had boarding pass A1. I made sure I was on an originating flight so I was the first person on the plane. I got my choice of bulkhead seats and flew SAN - ABQ - DAL - MCI all on the same plane, never having to get off. I found that much nicer than my MCI - SAN return a week later. In any event, with the new boarding procedure, WN is just fine by me.

Unfortunately, no. :( Most carriers seem to be doing away with them in J.
