I can be persuaded to do the Goose, and even Belvedere. I still have Tito's in my freezer too. My whiskey of choice is Crown Royal, and I tried and failed on bourbon. I tried Woodford Reserve and that got a big fat  from me. My tequila is Cuervo Gold, and I'm willing to try others, but I drink it so infrequently that I don't think to sample.

I prefer wine over beer (is that OK to say in The Box?) but as CM said, when in Rome you do as the Romans do. It's not like I dislike beer...

I don't doubt that, but it's still high on my list to go back. The fiancee wants to go too, so it's a rare case where our philosophies on travel align.

Yeah, it's still fun. The Quarter is just a lot trashier than it was, and some of the really good, old school, local restaurants have closed, or just aren't quite as good as they used to be. It also seems like there's a lot more strip clubs and the like than there were before the storm too.

I'm more of a red drinker. Give me a Cab, Cab Franc, Syrah/Shiraz or Petit Verdot and I'm happy.

Funny you should mention that...Mr. Jameson and I had a visit on the return trip thru SNN. My buddy that did the trip with me bought a bottle of such at SNN duty-free. He invited me to try from the sample cart, and not unlike the feeling of burned death garbage that I got from Guinness, I sipped that Jameson and couldn't help but think that my buddy got hosed on a bottle of really expensive Nyquil.

You need to head to STW and experience our wine bar her. The is a singning duo there tomorrow and then a jazz group on Saturday.

AS irony would have it, the owner is the guy that does airline CC deals. I told him he needs to get me double miles on the CO Card

The GM of the AC Palm informed me not too long ago in no uncertain terms that I'm a minority. Apparently the red/white preference split in this country is up to nearly 80/20 on the red side. I can do red with steak or something, but a hard day at the office usually results in either white wine or a Ketel-based concoction for me. The most fun red that I've had recently was a Shiraz called Layer Cake. Hot as a mother; it needs to decant for about 4 hours.

I remember when I use to do shots of that stuff. That came to an end when I was 25 after a night of Cuervo Blanc while on Anguilla.

Of course it is! Some of us have downed quite a few bottles of wine at La Carafe in Houston before.

It's a shame I can't drink most wines. I'm allergic because of the added sulfates which I can taste too. I'm generaly safe in Europe and with Simi.

I still remember my first true full-process lick drink suck tequila shooter...with a Dos Equis chaser. It was in the Carlos and Charlie's down the street from the cruise pier in CZM.

I never bothered with the salt and the lime. Ever do real Mescal?

 - never ventured down that road. I hear you don't come back from it the same as when you started.

Jazz + Wine? Sounds like my kind of place! ^

No surprise. I just prefer reds for their complexity (although, there are plenty of complex whites as well). When it comes to whites, I stick to Rieslings (mostly German) and some Chardonnays (as long as they aren't over oaked). Random white wine fact - Sauvignon Blancs give me a really bad headache - odd...

I have to move to Houston. :)
