Thank you all for the job encouragement. It's a pay increase with a lot more time off, so maybe the leisure travel will pick up. I explained this to the other half this morning as we drove to work... I said, "it will be a challenge to see if I can make Gold off of leisure travel", her eyes rolled and her question back was, "how many miles for these fare sales to Europe" ^ ^ :D Thatagirl!

yeah the 735's so hard to get the upgrade, but if you are in row 5 and no one is in the middle seat it ok.

I'm in a window seat, and it ain't the exit row or row 5 (all the good seats were taken by the time I made a booking. Not a single aisle-seat on the plane). :rolleyes:

I'm thinking it may take a long-haul holiday trip in Y to shock the Significant Otter into realizing that maintaining status is a good thing. She may not realize how key it is after years of riding in the pointy end, thinking miles grow on trees.

Dont stop at Gold...Go for Plat...I can say that because Im not married yet. 100% of my trips this year were leisure but next year thats going to get a lot more expensive paying for 2 tickets rather than just 1 so I will probably make Gold on CO and status match Plat on AA via Merrill Lynch CC.

The FA question thread made me wonder something - how much buffer is included in the block time for flights to IAH? I have 39 (well 24) minutes to get from C-19 to 34 tomorrow. I can sprint ahead while the missus brings the kid, I just want to make sure we don't lose out seats.

Flight status states that the flight is 86% on-time, so I'm not too worried, but I need something to worry about. It helps pass the time at work.

thats if anyone has been upgraded and on a 735 doubtful, but I agree still worth a shot

5A/B/C/D are blocked from booking until T-24 as special needs seats.

I've got a tough day ahead of me today. A bunch of friends are meeting up at McSoreley's soon for brunch/lunch/mid-afternoon drinks/happy hour. It is going to be a looong day. :p
