I've not seen the V, but I have had exit rows show up recently as "E14A".

Crap, got to move my seat on the return. I didn't realize I had a mid cabin lav 738 and I won't have a "good " window seat to sleep well any window for that fact.

I have a coworker who falls into that happy clueless category. We were on a SAN-IAH flight in January together, and she was shocked when she was handed a boarding pass in F. She is a Silver Elite with CO, almost exclusively through COEX/Saab flights. She had no idea what Silver Elite was, or why they were giving her a boarding pass with a seat assignment in F, and actually argued with the agent, telling her "My ticket is in coach! My company won't let me fly in first class!"

Another coworker and I had a crash course with her about how elite status works a few minutes later after we'd all cleared security and were waiting for our flight in the SAN DL CRC. I don't think she really understood, but at least she knew not to argue with them any more about the upgrade, and that the company wasn't going to fire her for flying in first class.

Turns out that F on that Saturday evening flight was only about 40% full, and all but one person sitting up there worked for my company.

Mid cabin lav is a good thing. Better chance of an upgrade with those four extra F seats.

The FA's are either going to like us or hate us. :)

That flight is 20F on the way back? Good or bad for my idea of bumping to the later flight and then if I'm really feeling nuts bumping to the next morning?

Someone's flying WN to a CO Do? And admitted it?

But as a lowly Silver I don't count on it. Does anyone know if 10F on the mid lav 738's have the window where you elbow goes (i.e. more room)?

That would be Mr. 6'8" and more to love. He needed a positioning flight to get to his DL reward. IIRC his flights are SAN-LAS, overnight, LAS-IAH for the Do, and then IAH-SLC-SAN.

I don't remember what variant NW Mesaba used to operate

Avro rj85. They were about the most comfortable aircraft going because the Mesaba labor contract prohibited more than 69 seats. The FC section was very large, maybe 16 or 20, and there was at least 40' pitch. The ratio of F to Y seats insured the upgrade for every Elite who came along.

The only knock on them was that they were a bit on the noisy side and your ears could buzz for a while after a flight like MEM-EWR, which was the longest run that I ever took on it.

Never mind about the VDB thing on IAH-PHL. Just looked at the seat map. I might have room to lounge.

Some times you never know. My trip to LAS last weekend was booked two months out and the seat map was clear. Both flights went out with about 4 empty seats.

They were 16 F, and had great seats up front — nice and wide, with lots of leg room. Even Y was supposed to be pretty nice on that plane.

I only flew it once, on RDU-MEM in August 2005.

In the space of literally less than two minutes, my EWR-FLL flight for Christmas went from 9 to 18 open seats. Maybe because I looked at it right around midnight? I'm taking a 630am flight and I'd love to score a bump, and preferably two since the next flight is only 2 hours later...that's a short enough time that I could convince the fiancee to bump herself too.
