Ugh, my EWR-ATL flight on Sunday evening is oversold, and it appears to be full in F too. So no EUA, and no decent exit row seat, since it's a 733 and 14A and 14F are both taken. Hopefully CO will be nice and get us a 738 or 739 instead.

What's even worse is my other half bought his ticket and didn't get a seat assignment at the time of ticketing. All that's left now are middle seats in the exit row and one middle seat in the elite seats, so he's going to be stuck in the middle someplace.

A bump might be a possibility, although it might mean flying DL, as all of CO's EWR-ATL service on Sunday is PACKED.

This is in total contrast to my partner's ATL-EWR flight tomorrow morning, which has fewer than 20 seats in Y assigned right now on a 735.

Remember many moons ago when I asked the Box what I should get that was valued up to $600 and "quasi work related?" And we talked about chairs and various gadgets, gizmos, and cameras -

I never got anything. And my time to use the funds turns into a pumpkin at the end of September. Depending on what the enhancements are to the iPod today, I might be swinging by the Apple Store tonight.

In other news, I did something that will start the process to, if it all works out, dramatically change my life (I hope for the better, but not sure). I'm kind of nervous/scared/anxious, etc. It's going to be a long wait (potentially up to 4 years, but could be as fast as 3 months) so I won't be jumping into anything crazy too quickly, but it kept me up all last night.

I don't want to say more in a public forum. :o And no, this has nothing to do with a trip to Trinidad, CO.

In even more other news, I have an idea for the first product of the manufacturing wing of PBC, LLC. A little plastic clip so the toilet seats on Boeings don't fall down midstream. What's up with that? It's bad enough doing the limbo.

CM - great comments on concierge service!!!^

Thanks! It's hard to not sound cranky or bitter when talking about stuff like that because we all have "I got stiffed on this" stories. I'm finding that at this property, the most unlikely source of tipping is phone charging. I've been slipped $20 for plugging in someone's Berry. I realize phones are important, but I never would have thought to that level.

Thanks, fellas. Sorry I missed you Hartmann. If there is a CO Do I will be sure to seek out all those I haven't met.

That stinks. I wonder if they'd put a 738 on the route due to the load, it's doubtful but I guess anything is possible.

Actually I've seen CO substitute a 738 for a 735 or 733 on IAH-ATL at least half a dozen times this year due to the load. I've also recently had a 73G sub for a 735 on MSY-IAH due to the load.

It does happen.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an office chair?

I was looking at this:
http://www.boconcept.us/Default.aspx...flashimageid=0

I like the concept because it fits into our needs, something simple, space friendly, and comfortable. Justifying $400+ on a chair is a little harder.

Portions of the post that previously appeared in this space have been deleted. I would provide you with a reason why, but doing so would likely be against the TOS.

I purchased a Herman Miller Aeron chair several months ago (from OfficeDesigns.com) and absolutely love it. It promotes very good posture and still feels great after sitting in it for several hours.

The only problem is that it is pretty pricey at $800+. After some debate, I was able to justify the cost because I sit at my desk most of the day (I primarily work from home) and it came with a 12 year warranty so it should have a nice long life.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it appears that there is a small chance that my EWR-SEA upgrade for Thursday morning may clear (currently showing A5)!

This would put me at 3/3 on transcon upgrades this year! ^

I swear by Aeron chairs and am on my fourth one now (due to changing jobs several times, not because they wore out prematurely).

With the announcement of LGW going away I decided to look up flights in December to see how it would route me in BF. Oddly enough, LGW is available (waiting for approval?) and there is a star next to the fare ($2002).
